“There was a washer dryer ...”
There was a washer dryer advertised, but the owner said the dryer had broken a month ago,and that if there was a problem there was an outside line or she could in an emergency put it in her dryer. She said she was out at work in the day and it would be easier for us to take it to a launderette in Rhayader. We chose this holiday property in part as it had a dryer, as we had a baby and 2 year old with us .It was also the first time in 8 months that our daughter and family had been away after ...

The property

Park the car and take a moment to enjoy the far-reaching hillside views which surround this detached log cabin in St Harmon in Wales.

The owners’ animals are in fields adjoining their smallholding and inside, there is a spacious, open plan living area with a well-equipped kitchen, a breakfast bar, a dining area and a sitting area with a warming woodburner.

This is a great room where you can all sit and enjoy meals together, watch TV or just chat.

If some of you want to watch different TV programmes, there are TVs in the bedrooms and all are most welcoming for a good night’s rest after active days out exploring.

The wet room is an ideal addition for the less mobile and there is also a bathroom for extra convenience.

Who will be first outside and into the private hot tub?

Along with a refreshing drink on the patio, this is a brilliant way to end your day, while the children play on the swing, climb into the tree house and whizz down the slide.

It would be easy to spend your entire holiday right here, but it would be a shame not to venture out into the surrounding countryside for walks and bike rides, or take a visit to the local market town of Rhayader, with its interesting little shops, tea rooms, bistro and pubs.

See the beautiful red kites soar overhead, or at the nearby feeding station where they can be viewed much closer.

A drive through the Elan Valley will astound you, with its scenic lakes and wonderful hillsides.

With such a variety of days out to enjoy, you will be spoilt for choice and returning to this superb log cabin each evening will be the icing on the cake!
