Pencader is a small village in the Welsh county of Carmarthenshire, just south-east of Llandysul and south-west of Llanybydder. It is a quiet village set in a west Wales valley with little more than 500 houses a shop, a fine fish and chip shop and two pubs. It hosts the site of an old castle, which is now a grassy Motte. Just 12 miles away the market town of Carmarthen offers a variety of large high street shops, unique local produce shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants, as well as a cinema and theatre. Visit Merlin's Hill Centre, steeped in history and shrouded in mystery, where legend has it that Merlin lies imprisoned inside the hill. With the famous Boat House of Dylan Thomas at Laugharne, the many castles and museums to explore, the wonderful sandy beaches of Carmarthen and Cardigan coastlines, National Botanic Gardens, the Wetland Centre or the famous Gwili Steam Railway all within a short drive makes this area a great base for a wonderful family holiday.

A traditional Welsh terraced cottage on a hillside leading out of the village of Pencader, with a countryside walk from the doorstep. This cottage in Pencader is set on the side of the winding roadside and, as with many traditional Welsh cottages, the garden area is across the road, where you will find off road parking for two small cars and a patio area with furniture to enjoy some fresh air with the family. From this Pencader cottage you need only drive a short distance to the beautiful Cardiganshire, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire coastlines with beautiful sandy beaches, coastal paths and boat trips to spot dolphins and many sea birds. There's shopping in Carmarthen, a steam railway ride, castles, mills and craft centres to explore and much more from this centrally located Pencader cottage. A great base for a fun holiday all year round.
