The small village of Rhoslefain, stands on the edge of the Dysynni Valley, at the southern end of the Snowdonia National Park, an area renowned for its sea and mountain views. Only 9 miles away is the picturesque harbour village of Aberdovey, popular for its mild climate, sandy beaches, sailing and a championship 18-hole links golf course. Aberdovey is often referred to as an "artist's paradise" with its pastel coloured cottages, small shops, inns and excellent restaurants which specialise in local seafood. The village boasts some of the finest beaches in Britain, with four miles of golden sand-dune backed shoreline running north to Tywyn, a Victorian seaside town with a promenade, putting green, leisure centre, restaurants, cafes and fish and chip shops. The beaches are popular with sunbathers, swimmers, surfers and fishermen, while the estuary attracts a wide range of watersports enthusiasts. The peaks of the Cader Idris and Aran Fawddwy ranges are within easy reach and are complemented by the charm of the Dovey and Dysynni valleys nearby. An ideal area for walkers, climbers, beachcombers and wildlife watchers, this artists' paradise is a wonderful year-round coastal location.

These two detached, stone-built Wales cottages stand in an elevated position above the village of Rhoslefain in the foothills of the Cader Idris mountain range, and provide spectacular sea and distant hill views. This is a lovely, away-from-it-all location perfect for the start of many hillside walks or cycle trails which offer stunning sea and mountain views. Alternatively, these Wales cottages are also great to simply sit in the garden and enjoy the wonderful sea views. This is the ideal spot for guests at these Wales cottages to enjoy a peaceful holiday, yet the setting is only a few miles from sandy beaches, golf courses, cycling, a variety of watersports and Mount Cader Idris, one of the most majestic mountains in the Snowdonia National Park. One of two lovely Wales cottages, this detached stone built holiday cottage was originally a 17th century farm croft, which has been successfully renovated to provide split-level, well-equipped contemporary accommodation which retains its ‘cottage’ feel. Inside, the high ceilinged sitting room is kept beautifully cosy thanks to the woodburner, while the bedrooms are inviting and the kitchen well-equipped. This Wales cottage has a private patio with garden furniture and stunning sea views, a small side lawn and a larger shared lawn, all perfect for relaxing surrounded by beautiful countryside. Ideal getaway form the rat race, peaceful and ideal for our dogs, they loved it. Great outside space and lovely views. The living room was ideal, real comfy sofas and a log burner which was ideal after a day out walking along the fabulous coastline. The local people that we spoke to were all very friendly. All in all a great holiday. Have booked with Sykes cottages again already.
