Ludlow 21 miles; Shrewsbury 34 miles.

Newcastle-on-Clun is a small village situated in the picturesque Clun Valley, which nestles amidst the rolling Shropshire Hills, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village boasts the 17th century Crown Country Inn which serves Real Ales, excellent food and a warm welcome. Being located close to Offa’s Dyke Pathway and the Kerry Ridgeway, this is an ideal base for people who enjoy walking, cycling, horse riding, fishing, golfing or visiting the historic towns and attractions found in and around the Shropshire Hills and the Welsh border. Only 3.5 miles away is Clun; described by the poet A.E. Housman as “the quietest place under the sun”, this sleepy little town has ruins of a Norman castle, a delightful 15th century stone bridge and is an excellent location for walking along the Shropshire Way and the Jack Mytton Pathway. A perfect base from which to discover Shropshire and into Wales.
