Location: Findochty

Buckie 3 miles; Elgin 20 miles.

The delightful fishing village of Findochty which dates back to the 1400s, sits on the edge of the natural harbour known as Crooked Haven. Nowadays, Findochty is used more by leisure sailors than fishermen, whilst the fishing boats have moved down the coast to Buckie. Findochty has a small sheltered beach at Long Head and a popular pub on the harbour front. Why not visit the delightful town of Cullen, situated beneath spectacular railway viaducts and renowned for its hearty smoked haddock and potato soup or enjoy a spot of golf at either of the Cullen or Strathlene golf courses? Take a pleasant drive to the lively market town of Elgin, home to an imposing cathedral, museums and the mesmerising Biblical Gardens. With the whole of the Moray Coast to explore, with its Whisky Trail, abundance of historic houses and gardens, sparkling golden sands and hospitable inns, this is a superb base from which to enjoy the delightful north east coast of Scotland.

Previous visitors' comments about Harbour View :

Lovely comfortable property which is well equipped and maintained. The open view over the harbour is wonderful especially in stormy weather and the local wildlife on offer is abundant.
Mrs Phillips, Stoke-on-Trent, October 2011

The house was beautiful in a lovely fishing village. The area is stunning, mile after mile of wonderful coastline. We even saw dolphins from the sitting room window. We loved it, loved it and we are going back!
Mrs Smith, Bolton, September 2011

The location provided lots to see and do locally, and slightly further afield, for all age ranges. It took no time at all to settle in with 4 children as everything was to hand. The kitchen was fully equipped and offered a warm welcoming home from home. The children loved it immediately and after an 8 hour drive this was a real bonus!
Mrs Spencer, Liverpool, August 2011

The peaceful, clean village and the gorgeous coastline.
Mr Main, Bedale, August 2011
