  • "Great house for a family get together."

Split over three floors there is ample space for splitting off into a quite corner or big gatherings in the living room and kitchen. One small note would be the kitchen table could be a little narrower. With a larger group there is no room to pass or open the fridge doors.

  • "The home is a lovely size, plenty space for a large family gathering."

It’s in an ideal location and has good outdoor space. It is an old house so there’s general wear and tear that adds to the charm. There are small things that could be upgraded such as bedroom drawers, perhaps larger sofas, a hoover upstairs (to save carrying one up 3 floors) however it’s to be expected when a place is rented out. Overall I’ve given a 9 as the house is generally well maintained and we had a lovely time. The welcome pack is generous and the house is very well equipped. We would definitely return.

Close to the local amenities and the beach. The kitchen had everything you could need to cook etc. The only issue is it was very cold on the top floor even with the heating on. It never warmed up.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We are addressing the heating on the top floor in the next couple of weeks as it’s the first opportunity we’ve had to replace the boiler. Thanks for the feedback though! Property Owner

Property was clean, comfy beds and plenty of seating. You can hear some early morning road traffic from some bedrooms but road was quiet at night. Excellent communication with host and was very accommodating with a special request we had before arrival . The only thing that could have made it any better was if there was an option of bed downstairs, possibly a sofa bed in snug TV room. However we would love to come back as we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Cottage in a great location in a lovely village of Cullen, with local pubs, chinese take away, chippy, well stocked co-op and second hand shops galore. The cottage was very spacious for extended family and friends. The property has a lovely rear garden enclosed garden, close to neighbours but plenty of privacy. Gates around property meant your dog was 100% secure (field just opposite for quick walks) Superb out door Pool table situated in outbuilding (big hit with us all) via separate entrance to the front door (just needs some heating as very cold and unusable without heating). This was resolved by Debbie with portable heater. Lovely large dining kitchen, (very well equipped) large double fridge and freezer, small snug with settee and second tv off the hall way. The road noise is very loud as the cottage is situated on a very busy main road and the double glazing is old and tired and in need of upgrade and or internal glazing as sleeping is hard with HGVS hurtling past all night long. House is lovely and warm as a good heating system. The bedrooms are simple/basic over 3 floors buts some are lacking mirrors, The property is need of some tlc from broken blinds to cracked floor tiles, Damp on the walls in main bathroom - its ready for some investment as tired in places. Overall a very good setup for a large group. Again must credit the manager/housekeeper who worked hard to make sure your stay was a good one.

Thank you for your feedback. This helps us improve and get better. Unfortunately straight after your stay we made most of the improvements and renovations that you had pointed out. Due to the fact that we have been fully booked all peak season, this was the first chance we have had to book a week off for maintenance. I am just very sorry you came before it happened instead of after. Bad timing! The outdoor games annex is not heated due to choice; we do however encourage guests to start their own fire in the designated open fire area with chimney. All bathrooms have been completely renovated and new blinds have been installed throughout. I would love to welcome you and your family back to show you the small issues that you thought could be improved upon having been resolved. Thanks again for your feedback! Property Owner

About the location

CULLEN

Elgin 21 miles.

The Moray coastal town of Cullen is situated on Cullen Bay, an inlet of the Moray Firth, and is an extremely attractive town, originally built around the mouth of the Burn of Deskford. Modern Cullen comprises the delightful fishing village of Seatown and an ‘inland’ area, which stretches up an imposing main street from Seatown, underneath a spectacular viaduct. Although the wealth of Cullen was built on textiles in the 18th century, the town is best known for its fishing heritage, its name being given to a rich, creamy haddock soup known as Cullen Skink. Visitors can enjoy Cullen’s lovely sandy beach, the famous Ice Cream Shop, regarded by many as Scotland’s best ice cream parlour, a fine selection of shops and restaurants, and the historic city of Elgin is within driving distance.
