Fabulous location. Everything you would need was provided. Couldn't of asked for more. Parking is obviously a little constricted but the lady over the road was very accommodating where we could park outside her home.

  • "Thank you for a great week."

It was snowing a lot but we were very cosy and comfortable. We had my elderly mum with us and stayed in quite a bit to prepare meals etc - there was everything we needed and it was helpful to have a spacious dining area. We also had our dog and enjoyed fabulous coastal walks and play on the beach and running along the coastal paths towards Portknockie and towards Sandend kept our training up - returning to a powerful hot shower and large fluffy bath sheet was great!. It’s a fabulous cottage in a great setting. The welcome tray was also a lovely treat for us.

Thank you very much we look forward to welcoming you back! Property Owner

An interesting layout that took a little thought to best approach. Obviously a great location on an incredible coast full of places to visit, beaches and wildlife. The housekeeper, Debbie, is a gem and the lady opposite encouages you to park right outside her cottage. Only downside was not being able to stay longer.

The only thing we would say that maybe a stairgate could be offered to the younger children as we had a under 2 year old with us .

  • "Excellent cottage!"

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage itself was excellent. Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Welcome pack was wonderful....we did enjoy the beer and prosecco! The cottage was lovely and warm when we arrived and had everything we needed and more. Around the cottage was very typical for this type of cottage and location. Very narrow street, the kind lady across the street allowed us to park in front of her house, if not, its only a very short walk to other easier parking. There is no garden and a narrow path at the rear of the cottage which is enclosed. I would highly recommend staying in this cottage and will definitely be back in the future

  • "The cottage was lovely, clean & comfortable:) perhaps a point where you can charge your phones or ipads would be a bonus, we did take a plug with us - but we were constantly swapping devices, other than that nothing more can be done to make the cottage more comfortable, we enjoyed our stay and will hopefully return, thank you."

Debbie the caretaker always on hand to help if there are any issues..(there wasn't) but grateful for her interaction ❤ Also the lane outside cottage is very narrow for parking so a kind lady opposite the cottage let me park outside her house

  • "The cottage is ideally suited in the heart of Cullen Seatown."

The facilities were exactly as described. Entry was simple and the little extras (biscuits, coffee, shampoos, soaps and beverages) were a nice touch and much appreciated. The log fires in the cottage were superb and well stocked and the dining room and living room separation provided a nice contrast between mealtime, games and a place to chill. The bedrooms were comfortable and ideal for a family of four. Just the one bathroom requires a bit of coordination between family members, but that is clearly understood in a property of this size. Parking on the narrow streets can be an issue so we tended to use a wider street by the nearby churches. The neighbours we met were very friendly. We would plan to return and hope to secure the same cottage which met all our expectations.

Ideal if you are a runner, cyclist, Walker . Had some amazing runs . Local people are very friendly . Pub and the cafe rock pool , fantastic locally sourced food .Cottage provides everything we needed. The upstairs is beautiful done considering it originally did not have an upstairs however be prepared for low ceilings . Having a washing machine for muddy running kit was well received . Only down side which is common in mist rental properties was the kitchen knifes were very blunt . But that is the only negative .

Owners were only a text away and responded quickly when we need help with one or two technical issues. Only criticism would be that the street outside the house is very narrow and we were unable to park our car due to other cars being opposite. We unpacked it easily outside the door, however & then moved it a few streets along where there was more space. It would have been good to know this before we booked. Would most definitely stay again though & be happy to recommend to family and friends.

The property

A two-storey detached fishermans cottage, once a bakery for the Seatown of Cullen, situated close to the harbour, beach and town centre.

A delightful place to bring family or friends, this cottage provides two floors of character and charm, inviting you inside via an entrance hallway.

The dining room is brought to life by a stone feature wall housing a woodburning stove, with a contemporary dining table centering the layout.

Dual-aspect windows create a pleasant outlook, and the kitchen lies two steps down, with a collection of appliances, and marble-effect counter-tops forming a quality setup, which can be enjoyed any time of the day.

For those cosy nights in, the sitting room awaits with its leather sofas, feature fireplace and floor lighting which projects a warm glow, as you settle down in comfort after the sun goes down.

A family bathroom includes a bath, shower, and a hand-held shower, a charming place to get ready before those up and coming adventures.

Three bedrooms are beautifully presented, a double room is located on the ground floor, coordinated with bedside tables and neutral decor, to promote a peaceful night's sleep.

Two further bedrooms are situated upstairs, both charmingly tucked away beneath sloping ceilings and exposed beams.

A Velux window welcomes in natural light.

Cullen is one of the world’s outstanding coastlines, not just for its natural beauty with plentiful wildlife, dolphins, seals, puffins and other seabirds in abundance, but for its “strong community feeling”.

The Royal Burgh of Cullen comprises sandy beaches and seascapes, coast paths, an historic harbour designed by Thomas Telford, great shops and eateries and places to stay all placed against the backdrop of old railway viaducts.

Retaining lots of original features, this is a wonderful cottage to make you feel right at home.

About the location

CULLEN

Elgin 21 miles.

The Moray coastal town of Cullen is situated on Cullen Bay, an inlet of the Moray Firth, and is an extremely attractive town, originally built around the mouth of the Burn of Deskford. Modern Cullen comprises the delightful fishing village of Seatown and an ‘inland’ area, which stretches up an imposing main street from Seatown, underneath a spectacular viaduct. Although the wealth of Cullen was built on textiles in the 18th century, the town is best known for its fishing heritage, its name being given to a rich, creamy haddock soup known as Cullen Skink. Visitors can enjoy Cullen’s lovely sandy beach, the famous Ice Cream Shop, regarded by many as Scotland’s best ice cream parlour, a fine selection of shops and restaurants, and the historic city of Elgin is within driving distance.
