Location: Findochty

Buckie 3 miles; Elgin 20 miles.

The delightful fishing village of Findochty which dates back to the 1400s, sits on the edge of the natural harbour known as Crooked Haven. Nowadays, Findochty is used more by leisure sailors than fishermen, whilst the fishing boats have moved down the coast to Buckie. Findochty has a small sheltered beach at Long Head and a popular pub on the harbour front. Why not visit the delightful town of Cullen, situated beneath spectacular railway viaducts and renowned for its hearty smoked haddock and potato soup or enjoy a spot of golf at either of the Cullen or Strathlene golf courses? Take a pleasant drive to the lively market town of Elgin, home to an imposing cathedral, museums and the mesmerising Biblical Gardens. With the whole of the Moray Coast to explore, with its Whisky Trail, abundance of historic houses and gardens, sparkling golden sands and hospitable inns, this is a superb base from which to enjoy the delightful north east coast of Scotland.

Previous visitors' comments about Dolphin View:

If you want a cottage which is right next to the sea then this is the place! Cosy and warm with everything you need, even golf clubs and a fishing line are supplied. Not too remote, within a village and only 10 minutes drive away from the nearest town where you can buy live lobsters and all types of fish. And yes, we did see lots of dolphins without leaving the cottage!
Mr Matthews, Cirencester, September 2011

This cottage was situated in an idyllic part of Scotland. We loved the closeness to the sea and the abundance of wildlife, with dolphins and seals virtually on our doorstep! So peaceful and quiet in the village and in a great location to reach other places very easily. Love the cottage, wow!
