  • "Lovely original cottage, modern, but not overly modernised, so it keeps its character."

Well appointed, seemed to have everything required for a stay.

  • "We had a lovely short brake in Lilac Cottage."

It is an old cottage which has been fully modernised and tastefully decorated without detracting from the charm of the cottage with it's thick walls and small windows. It is also comfortable with good quality furnishings and a well supplied kitchen. It is well located off the town centre and there is access to the beach using crossing points across the golf course. Happy to recommend Lilac Cottage. Ideal for two persons.

  • "Lighting at dining table a little too harsh, softer bulb would help."

Garden Gate latch missing, Gate swings against wall in wind. Annoying at night. Otherwise our third visit to Lilac was very pleasant.

  • "Should have supplied at the outset details of the akwardness of access at garden gate and into the cottage."

no notification of bin uplifts and the lounge was a little poorly lit with the modern energy saving bulbs. However, a lovely holiday, lovely town and great weather and not too much upset from jets.

  • "Lilac cottage is a lovely little cottage well equipped and comfortable."

It met our expectations and was exactly as described. We were out every morning enjoying beautiful walks in the surrounding countryside and so I would like to suggest that some more up to date local information and maps of the local area would Be helpful and interesting for people new to the Moray coast.

  • "Cottage was so cosy, we loved it The kitchen was well equipped and the added bonus of bread, milk and butter on our arrival was much appreciated The big bed was really comfortable and there was no noise from the street The bench out in the back garden can do with being replaced as it was quite old and weathered but there were table and chairs to use in its place The cottage is in a great place for access to local amenities and views."

    Would highly recommend it

  • "Lovely cottage, very clean."

Good location. The only downside is the cottage is cold at this time of year. There is central heating but the radiators were not very warm. It's an old stone cottage with stone floors so felt very airy. The owners obviously realise this as there are two fan heaters provided.

This over 200-year old, semi-detached cottage is suitable for a couple or small group of friends who will appreciate its central location and enjoy the wonderful coastline with its many towns and villages just waiting to be explored.

Lilac Cottage has a welcoming open plan living area benefiting from a well-equipped, modern kitchen and comfortable sitting area with sofa bed and a dining space.

Both the bedroom and bathroom are fresh and smart and to the front of Lilac Cottage is a small private lawned garden, a bit of a sun trap and just a perfect spot for a quiet read.

Across the road from the property is a championship golf course, which non-members can enjoy.

The town, known locally as 'Lossie', has a wonderful marina and lovely sandy beaches so there is something for everyone here.

Most visitors to this part of the Moray Firth coast are keen to take one of the many boat rides out onto the waters to partake in some dolphin spotting or sea fishing.

Nearby Covesea Lighthouse is well worth a visit too and you can climb to the top of the tower and enjoy the spectacular views over the surrounding countryside.

Although this area has miles of sandy beaches and loads of wildlife you may wish to venture inland and pick up the famous Malt Whisky Trail with over 50 distilleries within easy reach.
