Elgin is Scotland’s smallest city and even boasts its own football team! It is the administrative capital of Morayshire and a place with many attractions in an Area of Outstanding Beauty. Close to the north east coast of Scotland with its selection of sandy beaches, golf courses and atmospheric fishing villages, Elgin has a lot to offer in terms of history and visitor attractions. Situated along the banks of the River Lossie the city has grown and flourished and has grand stone buildings and of course the famous cathedral which dates back to the 13th century. Other places of interest in the area include many distilleries, Elgin Museum and Baxters of Fochabers. For walkers, the Speyside Way footpath provides a wonderful network of paths with fantastic sea views and wildlife.

Elgin has a flourishing city centre with much to offer in terms of shopping and dining out and the area itself is a perfect base for touring the north east of Scotland and Speyside. The Moray Firth coast is some five miles away and offers unspoilt sandy beaches and fabulous scenery. The area is also famous for a number of links golf courses and being on the Malt Whisky Trail that goes through Speyside to seven working distilleries. All in all, this Elgin cottage provides an excellent base for a truly memorable holiday.
