About the location

Bylaugh

Dereham 3 miles.

Bylaugh is a tiny hamlet with a Saxon round towered church, nestling by the River Wensum, located between the villages of Swanton Morley and Bawdeswell. Both villages, each 1.5 miles away, have village stores and public houses with restaurants. Swanton Morley also has a butcher’s/delicatessen and village bakery. The large market town of Dereham offers an array of shops and supermarkets, a sports centre, cinema, church, museums, and the Mid Norfolk Heritage Railway. A traditional weekly market is held on Tuesday and Friday in the market square. The city of Norwich with its bars, restaurants, cathedral and castle, is 16 miles. There is plenty of walking, fishing and cycling in the area, which is within reasonable driving distance of Sandringham, the Norfolk Showground, Pensthorpe or even the glorious coastline.

The space in the lodge was excellent, we have never had so much space in a two person accommodation. We like rooms with plenty of light, and this property with windows on both sides of the rooms gave this. We like the countryside, so being on the edge of a wood was perfect for us, in all a perfect week.

Mr Kirkham, Crediton, August 2013

We were very happy with this property, and the welcome and help given by the owners. The standard of fixtures and fittings was better than we had expected.

Mr Arden, Leigh-on-Sea, July 2013

Excellent accommodation. Good, quiet location. Very helpful owners. Great pub in village.

Mrs Rossow, Lymington, June 2013

The owners go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable.

Mrs Wood, Doncaster, May 2013
