extremely well cleaned and beautifully appointed with everything you might need. Lounge is comfortable and you feel peaceful especially in evening. Bedrooms are large and most comfortable. It is one of best properties, if not the best, I have stayed in. Only 150 yds from cliffs and simple walk down to lovely beach where you can walk miles in either direction. This is my second visit and I will be back again

Off road parking for two vehicles (7 seater + family hatch). Nice garden with plenty of furniture. Good beach trolley in garage. Kitchen diner very well equipped. Living room has nice furniture and good tv. Enough storage in bedrooms. Scratby beach 5min walk down side lane and down cliff. Hardly anybody on beach (excellent). Plenty to do in local area. Second time we have stayed here. Highly recommend.

When we entered the cottage we were blown away by the space inside, it was off the scale. The quality of everything inside was incredible. A fantastic private secure back garden was enjoyed by our granddaughter, even a Weber BBQ. The owner made contact with us a week before and gave us many ideas and tips which was so helpful . Also the garage is full of everything you would ever need for a trip to the beach, even a beach trolley. This is an amazing find in a very quiet area just a 5 minute walk to a gorgeous beach, Thank you for letting us stay in your quality home.

  • "To whom it may concern,  We have had to return home a day early from our holiday having been very disappointed with the accommodation."

When we arrived, we removed our shoes on entering the property as requested by the owner, within minutes we had very dirty feet and the hall from the front door and into the kitchen was covered in sand. It was obvious that the floors were not swept or mopped ahead of out arrival.  I cooked our dinner in the well equipped kitchen, however there were long black hairs all over the pots, utensils and tea towel, so although we washed the pots before we used them we still ended up with hair in our food.  The downstairs bath tap/shower could not be turned off properly and made a noise throughout the night, as did the air vent. All the bathrooms smell of mould and urine.  On the surface the property was beautiful, however it was dirty and the level of hygiene was below the usual standard of Sykes cottages.  Regards

Many thanks for your feedback. The Sandpiper is 4 years old, and the bathrooms do not smell of mould and urine. We have previously had excellent reviews regarding cleaning and hygiene. The floors were all washed, sometimes they can still feel sandy, as the floors are all wood. Overall we are disappointed that you found it necessary to leave one day early. If we were made aware of any issues during your stay we would have taken the opportunity to resolve these to your satisfaction satisfaction. Property Owner

  • "We stayed as a family of 8 (including one small child) during September 2020."

The Sandpiper was the perfect property. The open planned living, kitchen and dining area is great for everyone to enjoy together with more then enough space for everyone to be comfortable. All of the bedrooms are huge meaning everyone had their own space to relax and recharge in. The property is equipped with every amenity that you could possible want/need and these are all high spec. A few of the features that we enjoyed the most was the sonos sound system, separate utility room and lovely garden furniture. The location was fantastic, we enjoyed the short coastal walk to Hemsby as well as being able to visit Great Yarmouth, the broads and Thrigby wildlife park - all no more then 30 minutes away.

  • "Best holiday cottage ever."

Beautifully appointed with top of the range kitchen equipment. Fabulous attention to detail in the decor of the property with themed decorations all round the house. Good sized garden for relaxing in or for the children to play in safely. Quiet residential location, convenience store nearby and all major supermarkets within 5 miles. Can recommend Tesco delivery! Beach very quiet but accessible only down a steep cliff path (not impossible though). Enjoyed kite flying and sea watching from the cliff tops off the esplanade, 2 minutes walk away. Hemsby beach very close with cafes, beach shops and lifeguards although the North Sea is rough! Easy access to the Broads for a day boat from Herbert Woods at Potter Heigham. Post Covid19 the local hops and restaurants have put measures in place to make customers feel safe. Loved this holiday with son, daughter and 3 grandchildren.

looks very modern. loved by our Daughters and grandchildren. Son in law impressed with all the gadgets. As it had ground floor bedroom thought house would be ok for husband. uses walking stick. unable to use stairs. He found sitting room difficult to get out of chair/settee. microwave is sighted too high so when removing hot food you get burned. We had a power cut first night all street. This effected fridge/freezer alarming at different times through week day and night. had problems with heating down stairs bedroom. no hot water ground floor bathroom when using shower attatchment in bath Lots of lovely walks with Grandchildren .Thank youfor bucket n spade in garage. As we thought it would be too cold to go on beach. Horsey to see the seals and pups. Thigby Hall to watch the Tigers being hand feed.

Response to last review Thank you for taking time to review, I am sorry you had some issues. I am surprised you did not contact us, as we could have helped to resolve your concerns. The heating is working well, the temp was set at 18, therefore the radiator did not come on. This may have been a result of the street power failure, but had you let us know, we could have happily adjusted this remotely (via WiFi) for you. The freezer is new, but seems to have developed a defect post power failure. Again, if the alarm was chiming, we would have happily called an engineer for you, if you had let us know. The shower head has 4 settings on the head, and is controlled via the mixer taps which you adjust yourself. However as there are three bathrooms, if everyone showers and baths at the same time (as most houses) the hot water will run out For a short period. This is outlined in our welcome book, and if you had called us we could have explained further. Regarding the microwave position, although preset by the kitchen fitter, we have taken your comments on board and will lower the whole cupboard. Hope these issues did not detract from you and your family having a lovely holiday. Regards Lesley and Peter Property Owner

We took a lot of our own stuff - hairdryer, iron, ice packs, toilet rolls and tea towels but it was all there. There were even games, DVDs and a few toys. • "Sandpiper is an absolutely lovely holiday home that really exceeded our expectations."

It is one of those rare listings that actually mirrors what is shown on the website; clean, comfortable and fully equipped to meet our needs. The owners were a great help in that they let us know in advance that we did not need to take beach items as they were available at the home; this saved considerably on space within our car. I thoroughly recommend Sandpiper to anyone wishing to enjoy a holiday in Norfolk - it is ideally located to enjoy the seals at Horsey, the attractions of Gt Yarmouth, The Broads and the many Zoos, gardens etc that abound.

3 bathrooms, with 2 en suit is an excellent idea. Ideally situated for the beach, less than 5 minutes. Cooked breakfast available 10-15 minute walk. Other excellent places to eat all within a 10 minute drive, to suit all tastes and very reasonably priced. No need to cook at the cottage if you don't want to, having said that the facilities provided are more than ample if required.(first class equipment and appliances). Directions and access were also first class. I would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage or the company Sykes Cottages, to anyone. We as a family group, 6 adults and one young child aged 4, had a wonderful holiday experience.

  • "The property was absolutely incredible."

The bedrooms were very spacious and the cleanliness of the place was brilliant. They have literally covered every base. The only diddly thing (which is purely personal preference) was the leather sofa's weren't overly comfortable to get comfy on. The kitchen was very well equipped, en-suites and bathrooms were in full working order. Garden is a great space for BBQ's and out door games for kids (and adults reliving lost youth). Our party was 6 adults and 3 children and not once did we feel under each others feet due to the space in the property. It was a 10 minute walk to the beach which is ideal or a 15 min drive to Great Yarmouth. We loved it and would recommend this to anyone looking for a coastal property in a quiet area.
