From this Suffolk cottage there is easy access to the southern tip of the Norfolk Broads, the historic city of Norwich, plus the popular seaside town of Southwold is just a short drive away. St Michael South Elmham is one of a group of villages known as The Saints which are all named after their village church. The Saints are situated close to the Suffolk/Norfolk border and are located in beautiful rural countryside. St Michael South Elmham is a Thankful Village (or Blessed Village) which is a settlement where all members of the armed forces survived World War I. St Michael is one of only fourteen villages in England and Wales which are known as ďDoubly ThankfulĒ as it didnít lose anyone in World War II either. The pretty market town of Bungay is close by with its range of independent shops, cafes and pubs, whilst the small towns of Halesworth, Harleston and Beccles are also just a short drive away. The popular coastal town of Southwold is well known for its fully restored pier as well as its lighthouse, 15th century church and the sand and shingle beach with its colourful beach huts. A delightful rural area, perfect for a relaxing holiday all year round.
