The bustling market town of Bala lies within the beautiful Snowdonia National Park and is located at the head of Llyn Tegid, Bala’s famous lake, which is the largest natural lake in Wales and home to a unique fish called the Gwyniaid, a relic of the Ice Age. Renowned as a centre for great watersports including fishing, sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and white water rafting, Bala is also the headquarters of the narrow gauge Bala Lake Railway. The property affords spectacular views of the Upper Dee Valley and beautiful Mount Arenig (2775' high), and is only 3 miles from the market town of Bala. This very well presented cottage has an open plan living area with magnificent views, modern, comfortable furnishings, and a spacious ‘wet room’, as well as a front patio with furniture, perfect for dining alfresco. From the property there is a 1.5 mile ‘on farm’ walk offering stunning panoramic mountain and hill views, including views over Lake Bala. Nearby Bala is famous for its excellent watersports including windsurfing, rafting, canoeing and fishing, while further afield are castles, slate caverns, beaches and gardens. Both my wife and I are disabled and it was nice to see that the description of accessible largely accorded with our own. The owner of the property could not have been more helpful and we were made to feel particularly welcome. As such we would not hesitate to holiday there again.
