Betws-y-Coed, known as the Gateway to Snowdonia, is North Wales' most popular inland resort. Surrounded by dense woodland and magnificent mountain country, this is a haven for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. At Betws-y-Coed the River Conwy meets its three tributaries flowing from the west, and the beauty of the area is enhanced by cascading waterfalls, river pools and ancient bridges. Most famous of all are the magnificent Swallow Falls, situated where the Llugwy River hurls itself into a spectacular chasm. The village has shops, pubs, places to eat, miniature railway, a riverside golf course and the Woodland High Rope Activity Centre, and is home to The Snowdonia National Park Visitor Centre, as well as being the start of the beautiful Conwy Valley which leads to the coast and the lovely towns of Llandudno and Conwy.

Previous visitors' comments about Arfron:
The warm welcome we received was really lovely and made us feel very much at home. I have stayed in many self catering cottages in the past but I have never experienced a welcome quite like it. The cottage was lovely, beautifully clean and well presented in an idyllic setting.
Mrs Lossin, Malmesbury, July 2010
Everything! It was absolutely perfect. The cottage was gorgeous, the views were stunning and as a bonus, the weather was superb! We were able to barbecue every night. We went to walk and what a lovely walking area, we also climbed Snowdon. Absolutely fabulous! Can’t speak highly enough about it.
Mrs Roby, Doncaster, June 2010

What a fantastic place, in the middle of nowhere. I would definitely recommend this place and we will be going back.
