Betws-y-Coed 4 miles; Conwy 10 miles.
Llanrwst is a thriving market town which stands in the beautiful Conwy Valley, only four miles from picturesque Betws-y-Coed, known as the 'Gateway to Snowdonia' and which is North Wales' most popular inland resort. Surrounded by dense woodland and magnificent mountain country, this is a haven for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. At Betws-y-Coed the River Conwy meets its three tributaries flowing from the west, and the beauty of the area is enhanced by cascading waterfalls, river pools and ancient bridges. Most famous of all are the magnificent Swallow Falls, situated where the Llugwy River hurls itself into a spectacular chasm. The village has shops, pubs, places to eat, miniature railway, a riverside golf course and the Woodland High Rope Activity Centre, and is home to The Snowdonia National Park Visitor Centre, as well as being the start of the beautiful Conwy Valley which leads to the coast and the lovely towns of Llandudno and Conwy.

Previous visitors' comments about Pen-y-Fron:
The cottage was like a home from home. Very cosy, lovely views and very quiet just the sound of birds and lambs.
Nice garden, the dogs loved exploring.
Mrs Hawes, Seaton, March 2012
The cottage was cosy, comfortable and had lovely views over the hills. The open fire was great and the garden was beautiful and safe for the dogs to run around in. We had some nice days and managed to sit in the garden and enjoy the peace. The area is beautiful with lots to see and do. We enjoyed the Miner's Track to Snowdon, Llandudno, Conwy and Betws-y-Coed. The Ty Asha Indian restaurant in Llanrwst is excellent and well worth a try. A very relaxing and enjoyable holiday in all and would love to return to Pen-Y-Fron again soon.

The cottage was perfect and the views fabulous. Just didn't want to go anywhere else.
Mrs Ammann, Swindon, February 2012
This is our second trip to this cottage and we still love it. The property is beautiful and well-equipped, the garden/ grounds are lovely and the location offers seclusion while not being too far from the local town and shops. Our dog likes it too - once the gate is shut behind us he's able to run/ wander about within the grounds to his heart's content.
