Not able to use very high stools at breakfast bar. Sofa very small. Basins in bathroom fixed too high. No internet for a week although the owner did offer access at another property. TV reception intermittent. Main complaint is the intolerable noise from the beer garden of neighbouring pub which has 10 - 12mn opening hours over W/E unable to to relax in garden. This is not made evident in advert or reviews. Returned home after 5 days.

The town itself is very picturesque, with some lovely walks. We made use of the local buses a couple of times, including going to see a show at Venue Cymru. This is a gorgeous part of the country, we didn't drive more than 30 mins each day and found somewhere different to explore each day. Great holiday.

The bathroom facilities are particularly very nice. The location is perfect being right in the centre of town but don't let this put anyone off as it is in a very quiet side street. Parking outside is hit and miss but on the three occasions when the street was full the council parking within a couple of hundred yards was excellent and fully covered with security cameras and very reasonably priced for 24hrs parking. We made one request to Alison 'our host' and her response was quite excellent and she looked after us on the same day. Highly recommend this property for two people and one dog as we used it. Loved our stay in Conwy and at Plas Mawr and we would definitely go back.

  • "The overall property was good."

Information on the heating systems would have been valuable as to how to better control temperatures in the rooms. This led to larger than desirable swings. Location was great but not on the quay as implied. Only 2 blocks and 2 minutes away, but not quite like the description would have you believe. In addition, the parking information wasn't clear or detailed enough and should have been provided after booking. The road by the cottage was difficult to maneuver through and it wasn't clear about being able to park on the street nearby or lots. Parking shouldn't be in question for a property - expectations and needs should be clearly laid out. Otherwise, the cottage was very nice. The amenities were good and Conwy was a wonderful town to stay in. The bed was comfortable and overall the property worked very well for what we were using it for.

Thank you for your feedback and it's great to hear that you enjoyed your time in Conwy. The information for the heating systems and parking is all in the information pack that is supplied at the property. Additionally, there are two large council car parks very near the property. It's lovely to hear that the location was great, which is stated to be near the quay but not next to. Thank you again and we hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

  • "Loved my short stay at this cottage."

It's in a brilliant location just seconds from the main shopping street, but very quiet and away from the tourists. easy to explore the town on foot or to browse the shops and buy goodies. And a great location for exploring the North West wales corner. we went as far as Portmeirion and Anglesey as well as into Snowdonia National Park. Superbly appointed. Immaculate in it's presentation. Spotlessly clean. Great big comfy bed with excellent bedding.(Slept really well all three nights). Towels were provided (although the listing says they are not), so that needs updating. Kitchen had everything you need, heating worked a treat and it has a really nice gas effect log burner so we were super cosy. The bathroom has a huge walk in shower with lots of hot water and a heated floor. Loved it. I'd definitely come back and stay again in the warmer months to take advantage of the small garden/patio area. I'd contacted the owner a couple of days before to clarify parking. We were staying off season so we were able to park in the lane outside. If you are in season then get online and sort out a long stay pass with the local council allowing at least three weeks to do it. This will ensure you get good value parking without any hassle.

But as we are doddery, we felt unable to visit any of them in these covid-19 times and, consequently, spent more time (every evening really) in the cottage than we had anticipated when we first booked. As is shown on the website, the cottage is small and perhaps the small sofa and stool are not best designed for a comfortable night in let alone 7 consecutive ones. The breakfast bar/dining table has two (probably normal sized) stools that were not that easy for us to sit on but it was clear that the owners have taken enormous pride in designing and fitting out the house to the highest standard with everything a guest could reasonably hope to find. The house is really well located. I used the Guest Parking Pass to leave my car at the nearby public car park and that worked very well. I'm sure that, at another time, my review of the house would have been kinder.

The key lock for entry was straight forward and meant that we could be independent and flexible with arrival timings. We really appreciated the bubbly in the fridge - as we were celebrating our anniversary . It was great to get a call at the start too to check that we were happy with everything and whether there was anything required. The garden was very private and a welcome escape from the bustle of the town - which was busy . Parking was hit and miss outside but car parks only a short walk away - so not a problem. Facilities in the house were excellent with the tv/radio set up. Shower and bathroom set up was superb and made us think of renovating ours at home . Kitchen was also very well set up with washing machine and dishwasher etc. Pub garden was nearby but nice to hear people enjoying themselves again . We were very fortunate to find such a gem of a place to stay that was close to all amenities but equally very private . Our dog also enjoyed the daily park/marina walk nearby before venturing further a field . Good luck with the bookings in this difficult time and thank you again for enabling us to enjoy a perfect week.

There are lovely pubs, bars and restaurants in walking distance and our dog loved the beach. The only negative was the parking situation which is fairly difficult with the on street parking being on a first come first served basis. Bear in mind the street is very narrow and larger cars might struggle to get through. However the owner provided a parking pass valid for several public car parks which was very helpful. Also the cottage is backing on to a pub garden so the noise level on weekends / evenings was a bit louder but didn’t bother us too much. About the location

CONWY

Llandudno 5 miles; Betws-y-Coed 16 miles.

Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is without doubt world famous for its historical and architectural heritage, yet at the heart of the town lies a hub of bustling activity. Alongside its ancient festivals and fairs, musical recitals, galleries and historical attractions, there is an array of specialist shops, restaurants and hotels. Built for King Edward I between 1283 and 1287, Master James of St George's design, Conwy Castle remains one of the most outstanding achievements of medieval military architecture. The distinctive, elongated shape, with its two barbicans, eight massive towers and a great bow-shaped hall was perhaps determined by the narrow rocky outcrop on which the castle stands. The town is proud of its historic traditions and celebrates its past by retaining many of these in its annual festivals, events and fairs, including the Honey fair, Seed fair and Gwledd Conwy Feast in October, along with other musical events throughout the year. Conwy is the perfect base for exploring the dramatic Snowdonia National Park, walking unspoilt sandy beaches, or taking in the wonderful scenery on your doorstep. Also within reach are the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, which has the longest zip wire in Europe, and Surf Snowdonia is just six miles away.
