  • "Nice cottage, clean, tidy and well equipped."

It is in a quiet location ideal for exploring the Llyn Peninsula and the northern part of mid-Wales. We had a great stay and much appreciated the welcome pack which included bara brith cake and a bottle of red wine. The garden is fully enclosed and ideal for our two small terriers. Two issues: A parking space is available at the rear of the property but it is very tight to get into unless you have a small car. The other issue is the garden. It is on split levels due to the nature of the terrain. The stairs to the upper level are quite steep and have no handrail so when it is wet (as it was for most of the week we were there) we had to be very cautious when going up and down. Overall, very good and competitively priced. Could be near perfect if the parking and the garden steps were tweaked. Many thanks for a great stay.

  • "A lovely house that is in a great position to explore the entire peninsula."

The house has everything you need. The woodland/river walk from the house was just lovely. The beds were really comfy and the linen clean and fresh. The small garden was great to sit and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening sunshine. Thank you for a great week and for the treats that we enjoyed upon arrival.

  • "The area is amazing and the house has so much potential."

This is the most we have ever paid for a cottage and was expecting a bit better to be fair. Dog safe garden? I had to make a temporary guard on the steps so my elderly dog didn't break his legs on the steep drop. The sofas were so uncomfortable. Off street parking good if you have a KA. And not happy told not to recycle anything. Also door into single bedroom hard to open even for my 15 year old.

  • "A fantastic little cottage - cosy, comfortable and very well equipped."

Certainly one of the best we have visited in this price range. Great location with a lovely riverside path directly opposite for morning walkies and easy access to loads of sandy beaches. The garden is 99% dog-proof but our determined little border terrier did manage to squeeze through the tiny gap on the left hand side of the shed into the back lane - 6” of netting / trellis here would plug this final escape route.

  • "A lovely cottage, warm and comfortable."

Lots of thoughtful and useful touches, especially in the kitchen, with everything we could possibly need. Bedrooms were very comfortable with plenty of storage, and the welcome tray and milk in the fridge was a useful and appreciated gift on arrival. It is a lovely, peaceful location with lots of places to walk on the doorstep, including along the river and even to the beach and to Criccieth nearby. We also enjoyed a drink sitting outside at the local pub. We would love to return in the future.

The kitchen is the best stocked we have ever stayed in! The beds were extremely comfortable and bedding lovely. My only niggle would be the sofas in the living room are so uncomfortable. Overall we had a fantastic stay!

Spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. Meticulously detailed instructions to where everything is. The cottage is in a fabulously peaceful setting and as mentioned a lovely river side walk which we did take a swim in on the 30deg first day !. Recommend this property for anyone wanting to stay on the Lleyn peninsula!

  • "Lovely cottage, we really enjoyed our stay - very well equipped, clean and warm (especially when log burner is on)."

The welcome tray was great - tea, coffee, milk, cake & wine - all were lovely. Not all TV channels available as said previously tho as smart TV no no major issue. There is full waste recycling now in place. The beds were comfortable, private garden & patio furniture (we were lucky enough to have warm sunshine in April) the area is lovely, Lloyd George museum very close by and Criccieth just 1.5 miles away. We would definitely return.

  • "Wonderfully cosy warm and fully equipped cottage."

Very dog friendly. Well fenced in back garden (could let the dogs out without worrying). Utility room for doggie "stuff" and drying wet clothes. Good hot shower Comfortable bed. Tv was intermittent on terrestrial TV but we got around that by watching "catch up" as it's a smart TV. (so not a deal breaker). There are steep steps up to second garden so probably not good for anyone who have walking /balance problems especially in ice and snow. The cottage is in a lovely quiet lane with a river running close by. Overall - we would definately put it on our "go back to list".

  • "The cottage was in a great location, and was clean, spacious, well-equipped and comfortable."

The sound of the river outside was just lovely, as was the walk along its banks. However, there were two issues with the cottage which were disappointing: firstly, the TV reception was abysmal; we gave up trying to watch TV at night as it glitched constantly. So, it might be a SMART TV, but it was unwatchable! Secondly, if you are booking this cottage because it has a wood burner, be aware that there is no wood provided - not even for the first night which is what I have experienced in other cottages. Neither was there any information in the guest info about where to buy wood. This was disappointing as the wood burner was one of the reasons we chose the cottage over other ones.

  • "Disappointed that a cottage that promoted a wood burner did not include any wood or even suggestions where to buy it, never had this before with a cottage."

After a long drive and filthy weather nothing would have been better than to light the fire. There is only really seating for 3 which is not really sufficient for a 3 bedroom cottage & the strange leather seat which would probably win a world's most uncomfortable chair competition needs to be binned. We were also very disappointed and amazed that the cottage owners don't care about recycling when it was clearly available they need to think again, Sykes need to get this sorted out and make sure the availability or not of recycling is given prominence. Otherwise the cottage was comfortable and warm in a great location with all the utensils you would need, we pointed out that the aerial connection needs renewing but heard nothing back, which is again disappointing. When it rains the BBC channels distort & freeze and you can't get HD channels. It also appears from the road that the aerial has been blown over slightly.

The cottage felt a lot more spacious than you would think looking at it from the front and and was clean and very thoughtfully equipped. The garden felt very private and was a great place to chill out. We really appreciated the welcome goodies too! We would certainly like to return here one day. Thank you!

  • "The cottage is well equipped, a great base for exploring the area."

The pub is very welsh, but very friendly, serving oven made pizza and good beer on a Friday. But the greatest pleasure was crossing the lane and walking our dog up along Afon Dwyfor, one of the most beautiful river walks I've known. As somebody else mentioned, another two seat sofa would be useful instead of the arm chair.

  • "The cottage was just perfect for us!"

! We are a family of 5 (3 teenage children) and 1 dog. The house was so comfortable and exceptionally well equipped - it literally has everything you could need. We were lucky enough to visit during a very hot week, so every day was around 29 degrees. We ate every meal in the courtyard garden, and it felt like we were abroad. The local beaches were perfect, although Criccieth beach had some jellyfish - we did mainly go to Abersoch beach as we preferred it. Opposite the house there is a beautiful riverside walk which was wonderfully shady for the dog - we all had a dip in the river, which was gorgeous. As it was so hot, we didn’t get to walk as much in Snowdonia as we wanted to, which was a shame. We also weren’t able to eat any meals out as we couldn’t get booked in anywhere - so if you want pub meals - do book in advance. With regard to the cottage, the beds were delightfully comfortable, and the cottage was wonderfully cool, the showers was lovely too and there was plenty of hot water. Apart from the water being very soft and making my hair go all fluffy, I can’t find a single negative to say about our week away!

The home is well equipped with everything you could possibly need and the beds are very comfortable with Egyptian cotton bedding. The house is mid terraced but is very spacious and has a log burner which is a bonus. The garden is well equipped and is designed very well. We used the parking space at the back of the house most days However you can park on the road In front if you wish to. We would highly recommend this beautiful cottage and we will be booking to go again.

  • "Lovely place, renovated to a high standard with a lot of attention to detail."

Clean and comfortable, with a sitting out area in a very quiet village. Near to Criccieth as well, minutes from the sea. The bedrooms are excellent, two real double beds, plus a nice single. Parking is adequate outside on the quiet road in front. No real quibbles, the front room was smaller than the photos, the lighting not as cosy as the photo, we remedied that by bringing a lamp from upstairs. Some downlighting lampshades would be good, or table lamps. The kitchen was great, nicely lit by the big windows.
