Location: Criccieth

Porthmadog 5 miles.

Often described as the ‘pearl of Wales on the shores of Snowdonia’, this delightful seaside town is situated just 5 miles from Porthmadog. The town’s 13th century castle perches majestically on a rocky outcrop, dominating the skyline and offering superb views of Tremadog Bay and the Snowdonia mountains. Watersports enthusiasts will be delighted by the two beaches, whilst walkers and bikers are spoilt for choice by the proximity of the beautiful Snowdonia National Park. Stroll along the beaches, watch porpoises playing in the surf, or relax in the various pubs, restaurants and tearooms, sampling the famous Cadwalader’s ice cream. Further afield, attractions such as Portmeirion’s wonderful Italianate gardens, the Ffestiniog railway in Porthmadog, Harlech Castle, Caernarfon Castle and the beautiful beaches and renowned golf courses of the Lleyn Peninsula are all within an easy drive.

Situated on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, Criccieth is a delightful town with an array of shops, pubs and restaurants on your doorstep, as well as Criccieth Castle which was built in the 13th century and dominates the landscape on its rocky perch at one end of the town. Previous visitors' comments about Min Y Traeth:

The house was very spacious and especially the fact that they accepted dogs and it was near the beach.
Mrs James, Lewes, March 2012

Fabulous position with the sea view. Very comfortable large house to which we would love to return. First rate accommodation.
Mrs Roberts, Stourbridge, October 2011

This holiday home is ideally situated for the beach and for pottering around the village of Criccieth. The castle is worth a visit just for the views. The house is a new, modern, spacious, detached house so was just like transporting our own home to the seaside. Criccieth itself is a good base for touring further afield by car for longer breaks. This home is 100m away from the coastal path too. Excellent choice.
Mrs Worswick, Warrington, April 2011
