  • "Hi, we had a nice stay."

The cabin was comfortable and homely with everything we needed there. There was a few things of concern, we found two lots of medicine's from a previous guest. The power lead going to the hot tub was held together with duck tape and after I climbed in the hot tub, lots of water flown over which could of been disastrous for me n my partner. The kitchen utensils needed cleaning before use, we found dirt on a few plates a knife. There was cobwebs on the deers head in the living room so a little attention to cleaning is needed. The toilet was leaking and making a whistling noise for hours after each flush. I've taken some pics I can forward to email address if you can provide one please.

  • "We really did enjoy our stay at The Red."

The park is much smaller than we anticipated but non the less it was clean, tidy and most of all peaceful. The lodge its self probably could do with some TLC but nothing major. The bed was huge and super comfy, the hot tub was amazing and with it being covered much more useable during inclement weather. My only real Moan was the sofa, it is the most uncomfortable sofa I’ve ever sat on, being there for 7 nights left us both with bad backs. PLEASE PLEASE get a new one

Could have been a little cleaner, lots of cobwebs/limescale on taps/dusty surfaces. Kitchen would benefit from more cutlery/utensils. Wouldn’t stop us returning though! Hot tub was a fab addition.

  • "Unfortunately The Red didn't live up to expectations, the bed is very old and uncomfortable where you sink into the middle."

The cabin had a very strong dog smell, that lingered the whole stay. The overall cleanliness on the surface was ok, but when you started to look around there were lots of that were missed, mould around the shower, spider webs, lots of dog hair etc. Sofas are visibly worn out. Good points are the cabin is a decent size, the Kitchen is nice and well equipped, good hot tub, and the location and surroundings are nice and well kept.

No complaints at all. The hottub was wonderful, the lodge was gorgeous, very clean, everything was there that we needed. Couldn't fault anything. Will definitely be returning. Thank you to the owners who allowed us to have a full relax and a recharge without having to worry about anything. Didn't want to come home! Can't wait to come back! Thank you so much.

  • "On arriving we found pet hair visible across all tiled floors."

The henry vacuum cleaner smelled badly of dog,and was not picking up properly! The dining chairs were heavily worn and one so wobbly we felt it unsafe to use. Much of the furniture shows a lot of wear and tear and needs replacing. I do have photos. The very large bed was so close to the wall on one side it was barely accessible and had no table or light! As we were touring, we spent a lot of time out, so decided to make the best of it! The kitchen was well equipped, and there was plenty of hot water for the ensuite bath (in bedroom) and separate shower room. The hot tub was great! As pet owners ourselves (cats) we know the importance of cleaning regularly especially the hair! We were disappointed on arrival but made the most of our short break for my wife's birthday. The lodge is described as "superbly presented and with luxurious styling and attention to details". It falls very short of this description. We would not return and certainly not recommend!

  • "We booked for a quiet time away with the dog and we loved it."

The accommodation catered for everything we wanted and surprisingly was larger than we thought it would be. A lovely quiet place with a short drive to a lot of beaches, shops, etc. it was lovely to relax in the hot tub which was large enough for 3 people and very clean. Accommodation also very clean and we will be booking again and are even considering staying and commuting to work from here as after a days work it is lovely to go back too and not to far for us for work.

  • "The property is in need of some general maintenance in order to keep it up to a good standard."

The furniture in particular was worn and needs replacing and the whole lodge needed a deep clean. The check out time is 10am, the management team were on site at 9am dealing with the hot tub, laughing and talking loudly next to the back door of the property. I found this to be very unprofessional. If check out time is not until 10am, then management should not enter and disturb guests until that point. It was really quite rude and left us with a bad impression to end our holiday with.

  • "Loved the property."

Prefect for a couple for a weeks holiday - could quite happily have stayed a bit longer. The hot tub was excellent and used every day of our stay. It was immaculately kept. Only reason we didn't give the property 5 stars is due to the floor not being washed and also the close proximity to the shopping outlet that I was not aware of at time of booking. However this did not detract from our wonderful stay at the property. I would recommend this to others quite happily

  • "The lodge was clean and well furnished."

Excellent facilities including central heating which was needed at the end of April. The hot tub was excellent and lovely to use after a full day sightseeing. The holiday park was lovely and quiet with just 6 lodges on it. Local buses nearby to take you into Rhyl was very handy. A pub serving good food within 10 minutes walk was also useful. One small issue that we struggled to get the fridge cold enough to chill our drinks but didn’t impact our enjoyment so not a problem

  • "Disgusting."

Not been cleaned since it was built. We have cut our holiday short and are coming home as we cannot relax or enjoy our stay in such filth. Layers of dust and cobwebs everywhere filthy cooking utensils and glasses also had an uncomfortable nights sleep due to the mattress being so old. Damp and rot on the ceilings. Too much chemicals in the hot tub that our eyes sting and our swimsuits and towels stink! Such an unpleasant night. Sykes needs to vet this property properly before allowing people to book. It’s an absolute disgrace.

Hot tub is excellent. Constructive criticism: lodge will need a small amount of TLC soon, bed is huge but maybe too soft for some left me a little stiff in mornings, the shower knob needs attention as hard to get a good temperature and the ceiling looks a little tatty in places. However in general it's excellent value, very comfy and cosy and I would reccomend to anyone!

  • "Little disappointed in the lodge from the amazing feedback it had received previously."

There were damp patches on the bedroom ceiling,a badly marked wall behind the radiator and cobwebs in the bedroom. The bed was rather springy, thin and uncomfortable. Compared to other hot tubs we have used it was rather over filled and even though someone did come to look at it the bubbles were barely existent. I appreciate self catering you're meant to bring your own stuff but we thought we would have more than the one bin bag available to us for the whole week, and the cleanliness was so so. The internet was capped so we were unable to download any photos we had taken or watch any on demand services which is pretty common to have now. Overall the lodge was ok, but just ok. It could just do with a fresh lick of paint, unlimited broadband, more basic amenities in the kitchen (like salt and pepper) and a welcome pack/note (I did eventually find one in a drawer but was rather sticky). It could be an amazing place with some TLC but think it needs some love.

The city offers delightful riverside parkland and a children’s play area with picturesque river walks where you may see kingfishers, sparrow hawks and buzzards. St Asaph is home to a historic cathedral, dating back 1400 years in areas and holding the reputation of being the smallest, ancient cathedral in Britain. It is also renowned as the location where the Bible was translated into Welsh in the 16th century. In September, the city comes alive with the arrival of the North Wales International Music festival, which takes place across numerous locations, culminating for the last few years in a television finale, broadcast from the cathedral. St Asaph offers numerous amenities and activities, from traditional pubs, to gastronomic dining experiences, numerous craft and gift shops and local clubs offering a 9-hole golf course, horse riding, angling, and crown green bowling, as well as a thriving leisure centre and the Tweedmill Retail Outlet.
