“Outstanding location and a really ...”
Outstanding location and a really well maintained property. Easily accommodated 4 people and nothing was missing. The email from the owners on the evening of arrival was a nice touch. I've stayed in a lot of rentals in the area as it is easier than hotels while I am working at the University - and also allows for climbing. This is without a doubt the best of all the ones I have used today. Can't praise it highly enough

The property

This well-appointed, end of terrace cottage is arranged over three floors and is located in the centre of the popular village of Llanberis, in the foothills of Mount Snowdon in North Wales.

Ideally situated with nearby walking access to Snowdon and the pretty Llyn Padarn, this lovely property will appeal to the outdoor enthusiast and couples, friends and a family wishing to explore this beautiful landscape of the Snowdonia National Park.

The comfortable and homely holiday accommodation is tastefully finished to a good standard and has a certain amount of quirkiness about it, due to a modern rear extension, dormer conversion and irregular shaped rooms which add appeal, charm and character.

There are some nice touches throughout, and the owners pride themselves on ensuring all your needs are catered for.

A delightful light and bright sitting room, incorporating a social dining area, inglenook fireplace with exposed stone and lintel, and a warming living-flame electric fire welcomes you in.

The well-equipped kitchen has a lovely slate floor and modern units, with steps leading up to a useful utility room and cloakroom.

There are three well-appointed bedrooms on the first floor, a double and two singles along with a good-sized family bathroom with a modern white suite, and there is a further bedroom on the second floor which benefits from having a king-size bed.

With plenty of pretty walks leading from the doorstep there are lots of lovely things to see on foot.

A steady walk around the lake will allow you to take in the beautiful scenery and for the more energetic there are plenty of walking tracks which lead into the surrounding mountains.

Why not hop on the train to the summit of Snowdon, the station being just a ten minute walk away, and enjoy a slow amble back into town whilst building up a thirst to enjoy a drink in one of the many pubs located in the town?

Close by, the Llanberis Lake Railway, National Slate Museum and Electric Mountain are all well-worth a visit and Caernarfon, with its 13th century medieval and majestic castle is only 7 miles away.

A little further afield at Blaenau Ffestiniog, you can enjoy Zipworld Titan, the longest 4-man zip wire in Europe, Bounce Below and Zip Caverns, an underground trampoline and zip wire ride, along with the magnificent slate caverns at Llechwedd.

This delightful cottage is a great base for exploring both coast and country at any time of the year.

About the location

LLANBERIS

Caernarfon 7 miles; Bangor 10 miles; Betws-y-Coed 17 miles.

Dominated by the grandeur of the Snowdon Massif, Llanberis is flanked by two lakes, Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris and is one of the most popular mountain tourist centres in the Snowdonia National Park. In fact, Llanberis is something of a mecca for walkers and climbers, being the starting point for the ascent of Snowdon - the highest mountain in England and Wales. The ascent can be made either by train via the Snowdon Mountain Railway, or on foot along one of the many routes to the summit. Each year, major racing events attract thousands to the area: The fast Snowdon Race to the summit, held in July every year, a triathlon known as the world's toughest, and The Snowdonia Marathon, held in October - a gruelling 26-mile course that starts and finishes in Llanberis, circumnavigating the Snowdon Massif. The area is also popular for mountain biking, open water swimming and stand up paddle boarding. Within Llanberis itself there are excellent places to eat and drink and a great choice of shopping. Just 7 miles from Llanberis on the coast is Caernarfon with its magnificent castle and town walls and close by are National Trust properties at Penrhyn, Plas Newydd and Bodnant Gardens.
