  • "Lovely quiet property."

The only noise is goats and geese!! Geoff the owner always on hand if any issues or just to chat. House is warm and cosy with everything you need for your stay. The garden is large and enclosed so we were able to let our 2 dogs out without worrying Located about 8 miles inland but vlose to a friendly pub which does great food.

  • "Fantastic location, comfy beds and sofas."

Ample room at dining table in conservatory. Cottage not very clean, although owner did address dirty cooker when informed. TV old as is all furniture. Toaster only half of it works. Shower often ran cold. No welcome pack, no clear instructions about where to hang washing and where to park which caused friction. Owners not friendly. Would suggest renters always take enough food for a day or so as it’s a long trek to nearest shop.

The only thing I would add is that the stairs to the upstairs bedroom are very steep and quite narrow,so that be an issue if you have any mobility problems. The cottage is excellent, very clean and has very good facilities. It is very warm with plenty of hot water. Views are great and it is a great base for Snowdonia or the coast. I would advise visitors to arrive with bread, milk and get- you -in essentials. The best(cheapest )supermarket is about 30 mins away. We had a great time,we will certainly return and our hosts were very welcoming, helpful and friendly.

The cottage was well stocked with everything a family would need including a few games and dvds for the kids. The enclosed garden meant the children coild play safely outside whilst looking into the field of goats. The hosts were very hospitable and kind and let the kids feed the goats and collect eggs from the chickens. Would thoroughly recommend this cottage.

  • "Though the property was adequate enough we were disappointed to find mouldy cans in the recycling bin in the kitchen and other rubbish in a few other containers."

Clearly the property hadn't been cleaned to the standard we expected and this possibly gave us the impression the place was a little tired.

Thank you for your comments. Apologies for missing emptying of the recycling bins before your stay. We would have rectified this immediately if you'd let us know at the time. The property is always cleaned to a high standard and has a newly fitted kitchen, bathroom and the bedrooms recently redecorated. Property Owner

We were left some fresh eggs and other goodies by the owner which was a really nice touch and the cottage is located within a quiet small holding so is a great place to relax and kick back. . I’m not great with driving new places but found it very easy! We arrived a bit earlier so property wasn’t ready that wasn’t a problem for us we just went for a drive, they rang us when it was! Heating on when we arrived back ( been November it had gone cold by 4.30pm) which I thought was very nice, geoff also came out and talked to us about bits n bobs! We was a bit worried we would be to far out but actually it’s a great location to be in and away from all the noise of been in a town/holiday park it was so peaceful! The enclosed garden area was great for the dogs.. they did bark a little at comings and goings but dogs will do that, they enjoyed sniffing round. Also thank you for our little basket of treats that was a nice touch! Myself and my friend who I stayed at the cottage with would definitely stay again and even the dogs loved it.

  • "The cottage itself was really nice and clean and had been updated since we last stayed there."

We booked this cottage again because it still had an Exercise field shown on the web site. We have two spaniels and found the enclosed field very convenient to exercise them before and after being out for the day. However, on arrival, we found it was now being used for goats, which were next to the garden through a very thin wire fence. The dogs continually barked at them which was not very relaxing.

Thank you very much for your feedback on our property. On your arrival we explained that we had goats in the field you had used last year adjacent to the cottage (fenced with strong stock fencing). However you were welcome to exercise your dogs in another of our fields just 50m away and noticed that you used this several times a day during your stay. Due to the nature of farming and keeping livestock we do have to rotate the use of the fields so therefore don’t always have the same field available. We note that your dogs did seem highly sensitive to any activity whether it be a car approaching, livestock, pheasants, people/dogs walking past. Thank you again for your valuable comments. We do hope to see you again in future. Property Owner

She enjoyed the enclosed garden and adjacent field. Whilst the write up does make you aware of the spiral staircase, I was surprised at how compact it was. Thankfully my sister, who was originally going to join me, didn’t come, so I was able to use the ground floor twin bedroom. We didn’t use the first floor at all and I would suggest anyone thinking of going should carefully consider this restriction. We had a lovely stay and I would consider returning, just me and my dog.

  • "The holiday cottage was clean and comfortable."

However, the wifi does not exist there. There is no modem in the cottage as it 'piggy backs' onto the owners adjoining cottage's modem. We realised this when trying out our iPad at various places within the property. The only place it was patchily available was when you stand next to the door which adjoins the owners cottage which is in the hallway. There is no modem or extension to a modem in the holiday cottage. To advertise this as having wifi is simply wrong. When you have to keep in touch with your business during your holiday you expect to get what is advertised. Had we known this was the situation we would have gone elsewhere. Sykes contacted the owner who denied the wifi was not there. I believe Sykes should check this situation out instead of telling me there is nothing they can do about it. YES there is, check it out and then alter your listing and stop misleading the holidaymakers.

We appreciate your comments but were unaware that you continued to have problems connecting to the WiFi. You only mentioned on one occasion that the internet was slow and that you hadn't received an email but didn't ask us for any further help. In the week preceding your stay, the area had suffered from strong winds with interruption to the power supply in the area which did affect our internet speed. Rural internet can be slow but if we had been made aware of further issues we would have been able to assist you further. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused. Property Owner
