  • "Where do I start, I have been to this property about 4 times, I like where its situated, I like its a bungalow ( i live in a bungalow, i have disabilities), and has a garden for my dogs."

We had a pretty rough journey down, snow & hail etc.... my dogs were desperate to go out, no matter what I did, I couldn't open the back door, it was stuck fast, even the person with me couldn't open it... but what hit us first was, the smell of smoke, someone had been smoking in the kitchen & the conservatory. The door that was between the conservatory & the kitchen, was propped up off its fixings with a note saying do not touch, attached to it. The whole building was freezing too, because of it. When we eventually got the back door open, the dogs ran out to relieve themselves and my youngest found a piece of chocolate cake on the patio chair & ate it! She had a funny tummy for the rest of the holiday, as you may be aware, chocolate is toxic to dogs. Later on my eldest dog found chicken bones, when we looked, the bins were overflowing and full of fat, a computer monitor and a spare tyre! There was a broken mirror in the wardrobe, a big blue stain on the carpet & when I started using the pots, they were all dirty... I left the ones I wasn't going to use, I'm not washing other peoples dirty pots! The whole place had its of dirty marks on walls & doors & just seemed really unloved. The garden did get a trim & looked better than previous times we've been. It'd sad really, as I said I've been lots of times before, but this time it looked really sad. Someone did come & empty the bin, but.it was still full of fat. I enjoyed my holiday because I love Nevyn. But the house is very rundown now. I'm booked in later in the year, unless things change, I'm not going to stay in the property. The sofa's are not comfy at all. The shower head is full of black & needs a good sterilisation. The whole 0lace needs a good clean up & maintenance plan. The beds are comfy, bedding & towels clean. The dishwasher had a note on saying it was leaking so to put a towel on the floor when.its used to catch.the water! I didn't use it. The heating was.on most.of the time we where there but it was really cold all the time in lounge & kitchen because the conservatory door couldn't be closed as it was off its runners. Shame really. But Nevyn is lovely and my favourite place.

  • "The property itself is beautiful and has so much potential however it is a little run down, I found used sanitary products in the drawer of the bedroom opposite the living room also a yellow bag of used linen in the main bedroom where the iron is located."

There is a lot of cobwebs around light fittings in corners etc. In my opinion the back door needs looking at we struggled to get it open I had to go around the back and push it while my partner pulled from the other side, this is very unsafe as this is a exit from the kitchen had there been a fire in the kitchen area it would of been very difficult to get out! When we arrived it was quite late and after a long journey we popped out belongings on the table in the dining area ready to sort through in the morning, when we got up we noticed all our belongings were wet including clothes for the day on closer inspection we noticed a leak from the spotlight above the table again very dangerous and also left us without clothes for the day. I feel a little disappointed about our stay as we were there to celebrate new year with our family and this ruined our experience slightly.

  • "This is the second time we have stayed here, we love the area , great for walking , especially if you have dogs , and a good base for travelling and day tripping."

The place itself is good and clean , the bathroom units need updating and we found the double beds were a little small although we do have a super king at home , the living room seating needs changing as its very uncomfortable , the back doors need adjusting as they were difficult to open and close . We brought a firestick for the TV, which worked fine . Its great as a base , garden was secure although looking a little tired now, we would definitely come again if the seating in the living room was updated .

  • "A nice cosy bungalow, in a lovely quiet area, nice and secure for our dog and enough space for her to run around."

You are not far from the beach but getting there does involve a very steep hill, so you do need to be a good walker, you can drive down , and although Nefyn is a lovely place it is a little bit quiet but not far from other livelier areas. On the whole we had a lovely stay and I would recommend it.

Garden very overgrown and overtaking the walk/ seating areas, the one fence is held up by props and nails. Living room seating very uncomfortable and don't expect to have live TV as no signal.

  • "Loved our stay at Eryl yet again."

The property is lovely, clean and spacious. Ample off-road parking and nice garden with outdoor seating to the rear. The property is on a quiet cul-de-sac near the countryside, a short walk to the shops, the coastal path and about 10-15 minutes walk to Nefyn beach. On arrival there was a small bottle of milk, some Welsh butter and some Bara Brith cake - a very nice welcome! Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

  • "Eryl is a very nice detatched bungalow near the end of a small housing estate, which is a cul de sac."

On arrival we found a small bottle of fresh nilk in the fridge which was a nice little touch. Nice garden with outside chairs and table. Inside the property is well furnished with good quality fittings, comfy beds, decent shower in the bathroom and modern kichen with decent quality hob and oven. There is also an airiness about the place which contributes to the positive ambiance we felt about the property. Eryl is positioned about 100 yards from an access point to the coastal path which diverts from the coastline and passes through Nefyn. Additionally there is a pleasant leisure area with a waste bin at that point which is perfect for walking a dog first thing in the morning and last thing at night. Nefyn has a couple of shops, a couple of pubs and a couple of eateries. There are supermarkets in Pwthelli and Porthmadoc. There is an okay beach in Nefyn but you only have to travel a few miles to discover a variety of exceptional ones. Our favourite was Towyn which was simply awesome.

Great cafe for a quick snack or drink at the beach. Rear garden needs some attention, overgrown. Sofas in lounge uncomfortable. Beds comfy Dogs can get out of garden around the side behind the garage, we put a wheelie bin there to stop them. Nice base to travel around & dog walk Beautiful meal at hotel in village & pub going towards pwhelli (near Morfa nefyn) Porthmadog always lovely to visit, more shops than you could possibly need, including lots of charity shops. Overall great holiday. Booked again!

  • "Good location, The property was well presented, good off road parking, plenty of room with good facilities etc."

The only minor issues are the rear door step paving was broken and wobbled when stepped on, so could be a trip hazard, also the toilet needs attaching to the floor. All in all we had a great stay.

  • "** Strong smell in the hall from the heating oil ** There was a mild smell in the hall of heating oil in the early part of our week, but this became overpowering and unbearable from Thursday morning."

We had to lay towels on the floor across the bottom of the 2 doors that lead from the hall, one into the kitchen, and the other to the passageway to the bedrooms. The towels had to remain there all through Thursday, Friday, and up to us vacating the property on Saturday morning. As the 2 contact numbers in the folder were unavailable, the mobile not ringing, and the landline being constantly engaged, we had to contact Sykes Cottages direct, early on Thursday morning. Thankfully Sykes contacted the property owner, but sadly no-one came to sort out the problem during the rest of our stay. On Saturday as we packed our vehicle, we noticed that clothing hung on the hall coat rack smelled strongly of heating oil. The broken loose paving slab on the step leading into the garden from the conservatory (mentioned on 2 previous feedbacks), hadn't been replaced or repaired and was a tripping hazard. The property is spacious and well located, with ample parking for our 2 vehicles. Would we stay here again? Yes we would, providing the problems have been sorted out.

The broken step outside the conservatory could do with replacing. The location was really good & the enclosed garden was great for the dog. • "This property is ideal, well located and has more or less everything you need."

There are however a few issues that need sorting out in order to make your stay even better. These issues have been mentioned on previous reviews but nothing has been done about them. We found the TV and free view difficult to operate and most of the time there is no signal, there are only instructions for the free view but none for the TV. The front bedroom needs blackout curtains because the light from the street is very bright. The microwave door handle is loose/broken at the bottom. The conservatory door does not have a lock and the door to the garden is quite difficult to lock. The paving slab on the step out to the garden is loose and broken so needs repairing asap before someone trips on it. The garden gate latch is broken and can only be opened from outside. These are little things that could do with some attention. There is ample parking, enclosed rear garden for your dogs, a nice little patio with seating. It is only a 10-15 minute walk to the beach or shopping facilities. There are plenty of green areas and a childrens playground close by, so all in all the property has everything you need. The owner left us some milk, butter and bara brith which is a Welsh fruited tea loaf. All were well received. Would we stay here again? Yes most definitely.

  • "The bungalow is well positioned for exploring Nefyn and the beach without using a car."

The housing estate is peaceful and had good dog walking along a country lane just at the end of the road. I found the property comfortable and clean, particularly the main double bedroom and the kitchen diner. I'm not spider phobic, but someone who was might find the shower and bathroom's many spiders and spider webs a bit much! Perhaps the cleaners could run a feather duster around the ceiling and walls, and not leave the window open. The front room seating was fine for me, but a family would find the two seater settee and single chair hard and difficult to relax in. The oil fired heating was superb, so quick to heat the water and radiators. The back garden is small but secure so my shitzu dog had a good time exploring the admittedly overgrown shrubbery! On sunny days the outdoor seating and conservatory were lovely for relaxing. The information file on the bungalow was very comprehensive and helped with operating the dishwasher and microwave. The useful numbers came in handy as I needed the services of a vet, and was pleased that the practice recommended in the file were happy to give me an appointment the next day, and dealt efficiently with the problem. I would definitely rebook or recommend this property to friends. Thanks also for the fruit cake, butter and milk left.

The furniture is very hard & uncomfortable and not really adequate for 5-6 people. The leather sofa is the best but that’s still hard & uncomfortable.
