  • "Fabulous place done to high standard of thought of design, a nice thought of milk in the fridge, plenty of room for the five of us with parking for two cars, only downside is wifi a bit iffy but hey ho we were on holiday so not such problem for us."

  • "Great cottage on the farm."

Loved seeing the cattle and amazed to see a calf had been born one day about an hour before we returned from our day out. Lovely circular walk up the farm track, took us a good hour but we're slow walkers! The settee would benefit from some scatter cushions for back support but otherwise everything was perfect! Lovely to meet Gwyn, the farmer and the children, thank you!

  • "Hi we had a lovely stay at Hafod."

Stunning quiet location and friendly owner. Lovely property the only negatives that we could share is we found the sofa uncomfortable and on the arms there was a solid mass which could be a concern if a child fell onto it. The internet speed was poor. If you needed to work from home!! then that may be difficult difficult. This internet speed may be worth adding in the property details. Would recommend and visit again. Thank you

  • "Stunning property in a gorgeous rural location."

Accommodation provided for all our needs and while rural is also close to Caernarfon so that you can stock up on supplies for your stay. It is also central with easy access to both Snowdonia and the coastline. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Hafod and also enjoyed meeting our friendly and gracious hosts. We would stay at Hafod again. Thank you!

  • "The only negative is that the beds a way too hard, mattress toppers are desperately needed."

We ended up taking duvet of other unused beds and sleeping on them. So that sorted the problem out. Could do with a visitors book, games and a place to leave/swap books.

  • "Hafod is excellent accommodation in every way."

It is in a beautiful position with lovely views across the Menai Straits towards Anglesey. The farm itself is delightful and there are pretty walks across the farm tracks and in the little country lanes around the farm and the village. The property is comfortable, tasteful and spacious, with all the equipment you could need. The owner was very welcoming and informative on arrival - the welsh cakes were delicious with the pint of milk welcome on arrival. There is more than enough to do in the area. Anglesey is less than 30 minutes drive away, with its stunning beaches and gardens. South Stack Lighthouse is a spectacular day out at the far end of Holy Island. Only 30 minutes to the east of the property and you are in the sensational mountain scenery around Beddgelert, deep in Snowdonia. This is a great starting point for some fabulous walks. Caernarfon, Harlech and the glorious Lyn Peninsula are also an easy drive away. There is no shop in the village so you will need to stock up on groceries in Caernarfon. Really great property in a wonderful area. 10/10!

  • "Very happy with the accommodations."

However, the photos of the bathrooms gave the impression of much more spacious rooms. This didn’t spoil our stay at all. There are more than enough amenities in this property. I had to chuckle when reading the property details that the nice cooker extractor hood was ‘just for show’, again, in no way spoiled our stay. Hafod is a lovely, well equipped property and the owners very nice and helpful, especially the little Jack Russell who wanted to come out in the car with us! This was just what we needed, lovely accommodation in a beautiful setting, so peaceful even on a working farm..

  • "We were a group of four adults having just returned from an amazing week at Hafod - our hosts were helpful, informative and friendly but not intrusive."

We all enjoyed staying on the working farm and meeting Roy the loveable sheepdog. Hafod was just perfect for our needs, great location with fantastic views of mountains and sea. Weather could not have been better warm and sunny all week! Climbing Snowdon (via Pyg and Miners) was our greatest achievement along with “doing” the zip wire over Penrhyn quarry! Would also recommend visiting south stack on Anglesey, Portmerion and the walk to The Ty Coch ( Red House) Porthdinlaen.

  • "A lovely property in a gorgeous area."

Very clean, everything you could possibly need in a self catering accommodation. Lovely friendly host family who were happy to advise on local places to visit. Our daughter loved all the animals on the farm and took great delight in greeting them every morning and wishing them good night every evening. This really was a great find. Thank you for a lovely stay, we hope to return soon.

The place was very spacious the kids would’ve enjoyed it much more if it wasn’t that dusty. The owner however was very lovely did listen to our needs but this is the only criticism I can give

Great location to get to the Mountains and the Sea, family went on walks or bike rides every morning. Ample food and supplies shopping including takeaways within 15 minutes drive, due to Covid restaurants needed to be booked in advance and missed out. Only negative, phone signal was not great so found it difficult to book local excursions on our phones, found one good spot outside the cottage with decent signal.

  • "Positives - the location, you need to sell this EVEN more on the description as it is far beyond anything j thought it was going to be."

The equipment provided in the cottage - you literally thought of everything!! The cottage itself, simply beautiful. The simplistic nature of the home, I loved that we all spent time together without WiFi actually SPEAKING to each other (even my 14 year old brother joined in). The owner - he came to visit to make sure we're settling in and knew how to operate the boiler - such a lovely man! The welcome pack - very informative and the welsh cakes were delicious!! Constructive- when we arrived there were a number of flies in the property which initially was a bit off putting before we realised that being situated on a working farm, the flies maybe shouldn't have been surprising. We got rid of them with no problem. The beds are quite hard which meant the extra blankets had to be put down on the bed (but appreciate that beds are a personal preference so others will like this)
