  • "The Chalet is in a fab location, and close to all amenities, friendly and helpful owners."

Unfortunately, couldn't use the oven and the hob at the same time to cook a a meal . Also struggled to to open the back door, but overall was a lovely holiday.

  • "Our second visit."

The property is basic but great value for the money. Location is great with a short walk to the beach and costal footpaths. The are one or two maintenance issues (eg. Toilet flush, garden areas around chalet) but nothing that would put us off going back. Maybe decor could be a bit less fussy but that's obviously the owners preference.

  • "The property description is somewhat inaccurate - there are no 'stunning' views from the chalet - this is exaggerated - a more accurate description would be 'very pleasant'."

The facilities are rather basic but then that is reflected in the low cost of the rental. The chalet is surrounded by abundant shrubs & many different kinds of trees which all make the outlook from the chalet very pleasant indeed. The downside for me & my wife is that the chalet is only about 50 metres from the A499, the very busy main road connecting Pwllheli and Abersoch; we found the traffic noise early morning & early evening quite unpleasant. All in all, despite the above, the chalet's location makes it ideal for exploring this beautiful Peninsula. We thank the owners for being on-hand & helpful when needed.

  • "The owners were very friendly and helpful and were on hand as soon as we arrived to give us instructions for the shower and cooking facilities as well as directions to the local beach."

The separate shower room and bathroom were a definite bonus. The cooking facilities were basic but worked well and were more than adequate for our small party. We were also provided with extras such as sun loungers and a barbeque (which we didn't get around to using on our short visit). I found the beds comfortable and slept well, it was lovely to wake up to the sound of sheep in the next field instead of London traffic! The chalet was very clean and nicely decorated with a generous garden area. I would definitely stay at Castell Chalet again.

  • "Our only concern was the TV."

. We were very limited to how many channels we could view. Whilst we didn't expect Sky or Netflix it would have been a big improvement if we could have tuned into the basics, like BBC 1 and ITV 1

  • "A perfect spot for a peaceful family getaway in walking distance to a sandy beach."

We stayed here with our two young children, who loved the chalet and surrounding outside space, which was very safe and secluded. Owned by a lovely friendly couple - we really appreciated the complimentary wine, chocolate and milk, especially after our long car journey!

  • "We received a warm welcome from Raquel and William."

Leaving milk, wine and crocs was a nice thought. We really enjoyed our stay and loved the outdoor space. The ‘small’ bed was comfortable for me, a 5’ 2” female. We would have liked recycling facilities.

  • "The hosts were very pleasant and welcoming."

It was kind of them to leave wine and chocolate for us. We had everything we needed at the chalet. The double bed was comfortable. The portable radiator worked very well. The garden setting is beautiful and there are nice places to sit outside.

  • "1) The 3rd bedroom is very tiny and doesn’t even have a single bed in it."

Could have done with knowing that before booking. My 3 year old kept falling out of bed- imagine if an adult was expected to sleep in there- Dimensions of the rooms should be available at booking. 2) The listing said towels were provided. We only got 1 large towel between 4 of us for 4 nights. We were not happy about this. Should have been at least one towel each. 4) there were no proper curtains. There were kitchen blinds in the small and double bedroom and voile in the single room. Not ideal in height of summer. Good job we packed black out blinds. When you pay so much for accommodation you expect to have decent curtains in your bedroom. 5) we were not told where to dispose of our rubbish. We ended up putting it in the owners bin as leaving it outside was not an option. Perhaps the owners should consider providing an outside bin to go next to the caravan. 6) Everything else was as expected, however, because of the very high price paid I don’t think there was good value for money given the size of the ‘chalet’ (caravan) and amenities provided 7) on a positive note, the caravan was quiet and the gardens were beautiful. Excellent location.

It was basic but comfortable. In a lovely quiet location with a ten minute walk to a great deserted beach.

  • "We had a lovely stay , my 2 boys loved staying in this chalet/caravan."

Very clean, warm welcome from the hosts. Lovely surroundings. So peaceful and the boys loved the outdoor space. Just what we wanted. Shops near by and lovely beaches not too far away, Would definitely recommend. Thank you.

  • "I understood the limitations of the cooking arrangements and was expecting just two hotplates but the arrangement is a mini oven/hob unit."

I cook and like a challenge when self-catering and would have faired reasonably well, albeit rather slow, but brought additional assistance (combined slow/pressure cooker and single induction hob) and we cooked and ate very well. The accommodation was good, wide (14') static caravan feel, and wood-clad exterior. The grounds that it was set in are fantastic. Mature plantings of trees, oak, monkey puzzle, orchard varieties, shrubs, gunneras, yuccas, and grasses. Large grassed area and great BBQ with good table and seating. Secluded. Although the owners live on the site the accommodation and gardens are not overlooked (good people). Quiet and peaceful. Gravelly beach 20mins walk away. Short drive to beaches at Llandedrog (well-stocked Spar on the road), Aberdaron (Abersoch if you are that way inclined!). Pwllheli in the other direction has an ASDA.

We had to leave a day early, sadly, as our house purchase proceeded earlier than expected.

  • "It says that it is secluded it isn't really as the owner lives right next to the chalet which wasn't to bad as they really were lovely people and just left us to."

It. There is no oven! This was changed on menai webpage to state this after I'd book. Again not so much an issue for me and my partner but when you have a child (which I do) kinda need an oven for easy foods. The rooms are small but comfy and the garden was amazing. My son and dog had the best time ever here. Other than it not being secluded or have an oven this property is beautiful and perfect for people who want to relax or those who like to get out and about. Thank you for having us x

  • "Great spot - especially when we discovered that we could walk directly from the cottage down to the beach in 10-15 minutes then into town (another 20-30 minutes)."

A slight warning: parking is on grass down a slope and can get a little slippery when it’s raining. Overall the cottage was comfortable with a good garden for sitting out and playing with the dog!
