The hilltop town of Ruthin lies to the north of Llangollen via the breathtaking Horseshoe Pass. The town is picturesque with attractive half-timbered buildings, mainly clustered around St Peter’s Square. There are many interesting shops and buildings, whilst the Nant Clwyd House (the oldest timber frame in Wales), Ruthin Gaol and Ruthin Craft Centre, which houses work by internationally recognised artists and craftspeople, are also worth a visit. Beautiful countryside is on Ruthin’s doorstep with Lake Brenig, Moel Famau Country Park and Clocaenog Forest close by. Further afield, but still within easy touring distance, are the Coast, Snowdonia National Park and historic Chester.

Previous visitors' comments about The Old Farmhouse:
The welcome left for us of home made scones, jam and cream for all of us and milk in the fridge with coffee, tea and sugar was a nice touch. There was enough comfortable seating in one room for the whole family to each have a seat. The living rooms were spaced enough for you to still have some privacy if wanted. Pleasant owners. Overall, a great weekend away for a large family group and I would recommend the property to anybody. We would definitely return.
