Often described as the ‘pearl of Wales on the shores of Snowdonia’, this delightful seaside town is situated just 5 miles from Porthmadog. The town’s 13th century castle perches majestically on a rocky outcrop, dominating the skyline and offering superb views of Tremadog Bay and the Snowdonia mountains. Watersports enthusiasts will be delighted by the two beaches, whilst walkers and bikers are spoilt for choice by the proximity of the beautiful Snowdonia National Park. Stroll along the beaches, watch porpoises playing in the surf, or relax in the various pubs, restaurants and tearooms, sampling the famous Cadwalader’s ice cream. Further afield, attractions such as Portmeirion’s wonderful Italianate gardens, the Ffestiniog railway in Porthmadog, Harlech Castle, Caernarfon Castle and the beautiful beaches and renowned golf courses of the Lleyn Peninsula are all within an easy drive.

A superb Victorian terrace, located next to the village green, in the centre of Criccieth, on the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales. A sliding glass doorway leads through into the large dining room and on down the hall into a further spacious sitting room, with a cosy woodburner, so if you want a bit of peace and quiet to read your favourite book, you can escape into here! The fitted, well-equipped kitchen boasts an electric range cooker, twin Belfast sinks and beech block worktops, giving an indulgent, high-quality finish, so you can enjoy cooking delicious meals in this self-catering Criccieth cottage. Some of the bedrooms in this Criccieth cottage enjoy lovely sea or castle views, one from a double bay window, so when you wake each morning, you can make the most of the ever-changing coastal and country scenery. Criccieth itself has two superb family friendly beaches, with safe swimming, watersports and rock-pooling.
