The village of Overton-on-Dee stands amidst delightful countryside close to the English border, offering a perfect base from which to explore North Wales, Cheshire and Shropshire. Situated on an escarpment around which the River Dee winds its course, this charming village boasts a fine collection of 18th Century buildings, a small selection of local shops, a great restaurant and a traditional pub. The nine Meres of Ellesmere are also nearby, created during the glacial period and now providing scenic walks, boat trips, sailing, fishing and bird watching opportunities to the many visitors that travel from near and far. Ellesmere also has a broad variety of attractive buildings including St Mary's Church, which dates back to the Norman Conquest, whilst offering a fine selection of shops and no less than nine pubs in addition to an annual beer festival, making this an ideal holiday location all year round.

Overton-on-Dee 1.5 miles. This detached brick-built farmhouse is set in 3 acres of grounds, close to the village of Overton-on-Dee, five miles from Ellesmere, on the edge of the English/Welsh border. This Overton-on-Dee cottage is set in a quiet, rural location and offers real charm, retaining much of its original character and features with exposed beams in both of the sitting rooms, an oil fired AGA and low ceilings and doors. Your Overton-on-Dee cottage provides flexible accommodation, with three bedrooms consisting of a double, a family room and a twin, along with bathrooms on both floors. There are woodburners in both of the sitting rooms, one used to heat the water, and the well-equipped kitchen with dining area forms the hub of this Overton-on-Dee cottage. The large garden offers plenty of room for children to play and explore, plus a real bonus to staying in this Overton-on-Dee cottage is the shared use of an outdoor swimming pool, which is heated between June and August and provides hours of fun and entertainment for all. The local area has wonderful walks and numerous cycling tracks making this a superb Overton-on-Dee cottage for friends and families to relax in and enjoy!
