Caernarfon (county town of Gwynedd) has much historic and cultural importance in North Wales. It is a popular tourist spot with its impressive 13th Century castle, well preserved town walls and delightful water front. During the season there are guided tours of the castle and special events including historic pageants. There is also a station for the Welsh Highland Railway, which passes through dramatic scenery, the village of Beddgelert and onto Porthmadog. Fishing trips are available from the harbour and another attraction within walking distance of the town centre is Segontium, a Roman fort and museum, housing many important finds. Caernarfon offers a wide selection of shops and places to eat and is close to the lovely beaches of the Isle of Anglesey and the Lleyn Peninsula as well as the mountains and rivers of Snowdonia, including the renowned mountaineering town of Llanberis at the foot of Mount Snowdon.

Caernarfon 8 miles. This beautiful, detached, stone built farm house is located in a rural setting, 2 miles from the small village of Pontllyfni and 8 miles south of Caernarfon in North Wales. This Caernarfon cottage has been tastefully renovated to a high standard to retain much of its original feel whilst providing modern contemporary living accommodation. This Caernarfon cottage is spacious and airy, with four large bedrooms and a fully fitted kitchen/dining room with its original oil fired Rayburn, which forms the hub of the house. Up two steps is the sitting room with a large inglenook fireplace with a woodburner, an ideal place for families and friends to socialise when the evenings get chilly. A large lawned garden with orchard is set in front of the house with far reaching views towards the coast and the cottage is accessed down a long drive past a working farm, with plenty of space available for cars and boats. This Caernarfon cottage is in a fantastic, central location from which to explore the North Wales countryside and coastline, with a vast array of walking trails, cycle paths and beaches, which are less then 2 miles away. This warm, welcoming, Caernarfon cottage is a superb place to spend time with friends and family, whatever the time of year.

Pentwr is a lovely cottage with enough room for a family of four and four grandparents. Lounge and kitchen both had sufficient room to accommodate everybody comfortably. The cottage has everything you need for a quiet break away from the towns and cities but close enough for days trips around North Wales. An excellent cottage with a high standard of fixtures and fittings - highly Recommended.
