The pleasant seaside town of Abergele stands on the lovely North Wales coastline and is ideally positioned between the stunning Vale of Clwyd and the lovely Conwy Valley. Renowned for the impressive Gwych Castle which overlooks the town, and its enormous sandy beach, the whole area offers safe bathing waters and excellent watersports facilities, as well as a coastal cycle path which runs along the Abergele seafront, whilst for walking enthusiasts the Offa's Dyke pathway, the Clwydian Hill Range and beautiful Betws-y-Coed known as the "gateway to Snowdonia" are all nearby. The beautiful castles of Rhuddlan, Bodelwyddan, Conwy and Caernarfon are not to be missed and the delightful Victorian town of Llandudno, offering quality shops, restaurants, a fantastic dry ski slope and exciting cable car rides over the Great Orme, is within easy driving distance. Plenty to do at any time of the year!

A pair of stone-built, fully converted farm stables, part of a row of four cottages, set behind the owners’ livestock farm in Dolwen, 3 miles from Abergele, on the Colwyn Bay coast in North Wales. Both these Abergele cottages have been renovated to a very good standard, yet retain a traditional, farmhouse character feel throughout, with exposed beams and stable doors. These Abergele cottages share a communal front courtyard with private patio area and furniture. These Abergele cottages are in a great touring location, ideal for exploring the beautiful North Wales coastline and the many activities on offer in the area. There is ample walking and cycling in this peaceful location, and within a short drive of these Abergele cottages are the beautiful sandy beaches at Colwyn Bay and Abergele. There is access to a golf course only 4 minutes away, and several good riding schools in the vicinity, plus you are ideally placed for discovering the Welsh Mountain Zoo, Bodnant Gardens and the Snowdonia National Park. These Abergele cottages really are in an ideal location to explore North Wales at its best.

The cottage was in a peaceful location. Llandudno, Conwy, Snowdonia were relatively close by so we didn't have to spend too much time travelling by car. This is the third time we have used Sykes Cottages and have always been impressed by the high standard of the properties.

The property owners, who lived in the farm next door, could not have been more helpful. We were invited to help feed the baby lambs and calves one evening. The property itself was one of the best we've stayed at - we would highly recommend it and will probably go back again.
