The village of Ballintra lies in south County Donegal, and is situated on the northern bank of the Blackwater River. The area is fantastic for fishing, with the river Eske and numerous fishing lakes available, and for golfers, Donegal Golf Club and Murvagh Links Course provide a great game against a stunning backdrop. The dramatic sandy beach at Rossnowlagh is backed by wonderful cliff views of Slieve League, and is framed by the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, making a wonderful day out. Donegal Town is a short drive from Ballintra, and is home to Donegal Castle and Murvagh Beach. For a great taste of the lovely Irish scenery, enjoy a drive along the Glengesh Pass, while Slieve League, Glenveagh National Park and Castle and Malin Head are all worth a visit.

Ballintra 3 miles. This detached, single storey cottage is set in a lovely, rural location, 3 miles from the village of Ballintra, and 8 miles from Donegal Town, in County Donegal. Set amidst the Donegal countryside, this Ballintra cottage benefits from the peace and quiet of nature, while still being within easy reach of Ballintra's amenities. The large kitchen has a country feel, with tiled floors, a dining area and a working range cooker, giving it a cosy, welcoming atmosphere and making this room the heart of this Ballintra cottage. With lots to see and do in the area, the comfortable beds are very inviting after a long day. Visit Glenveagh National Park and Castle, enjoy a scenic drive on the Glengesh Pass or try a spot of fishing on one of the many lakes in the area. A great Ballintra cottage, all year round.
