The small rural village of Convoy in County Donegal is surrounded by countryside and offers a pub and church. The twin towns of Stranorlar and Ballybofey are separated by the River Finn, which is excellent for fishing. Stranorlar, smaller of the two towns has a church and nearby is the Lough Allen bird sanctuary and Drumboe Woods, which has good walking routes. To celebrate the fact that both towns are twinned, an annual festival takes place in Ballybofey. Within driving distance is Letterkenny, the largest town in Donegal and boasts pubs, restaurants, a cathedral, museum and festivals. Other places to visit in the area are the stunning Glenveigh National Park and Donegal Town. Convoy is an ideal base for exploring all that County Donegal has to offer.
