It is set in a lovely little estate of detached houses, so is very peaceful. We immediately felt relaxed upon entering and the welcome boxes, ( for us and our dog ), went far beyond anything we have received at other holiday homes. The owners welcomed us and were on hand should we have needed them. Due to our visit being in December, we didn't make use of the garden, but it was very handy for letting our dog out early morning and late at night. The holiday flat is in an excellent position for visiting surrounding towns and we used the park and ride at the Designers Outlet to travel into central York. Dogs are allowed on the buses. Selby has nearly all the major supermarkets and there is a Tesco Express in Brayton. We would recommend Brayton Retreat to anyone wishing to visit the area.
