Location: Skerne Near Beverley

Driffield 1.5 miles; Beverley 10 miles; Bridlington 15 miles.

The quiet, back-water village of Skerne rests amidst deep rural countryside, on the borders of the Yorkshire Wolds, close to the bustling market town of Driffield. Known as the 'Capital of The Yorkshire Wolds', nearby Driffield provides a variety of family-run shops, tearooms, public houses, and a twice-weekly market, as well as two supermarkets. The town’s showground hosts an annual Agricultural Show and the historic Steam and Vintage Rally, to name but a few attractions. There are pleasant walks to local beauty spots, such as the canal banks at River Head, or out of town to Bell Mills or Kings Mill. Stately homes such as Burton Agnes Hall and Sledmere House are nearby, whilst Cruckley Animal Farm and the soaring Bempton Cliffs, with its puffin and gannet colonies are well worth a visit. Alternatively, visit the thriving market town of Beverley, the historic City of York or the seaport of Kingston upon Hull. Yorkshire's east coast, with its wide, sandy beaches, offers quaint seaside towns such as Hornsea, Bridlington, Scarborough and Whitby. A great location at any time of year.
