Foxglove Lodge is set in the pretty village of Castleton, the heart of the North York Moors National Park and is set in the converted Old Parish Rooms. Built of sandstone and red brick, this Castleton cottage has been thoughtfully modernised to a high standard to provide excellent accommodation for guests wanting to explore the surrounding stunning scenery, yet it is also within easy reach of Whitby and the east coast. Upstairs are two double bedrooms, the larger one with beautiful views over the hills of the Esk Valley. Outside, there is a small, gravelled courtyard, an ideal spot to sit with an evening drink and watch the sun going down over the hills. Within a short stroll are the excellent village amenities, including local inns serving fine ales and good food, a Co-op, a bank and quaint tea rooms. With a network of public footpaths and bridleways from the village, this area is a haven for walkers, cyclists and horse riders, whilst a short drive brings you to the historic seaside port of Whitby, with its long sandy beaches, cobbled market place and famous abbey. The area is also rich in industrial and archaeological sites from its mining history, with Bronze Age relics also prolific. Why not visit the Danby Moors Centre, just two miles away, or discover the delights of the picturesque coastal villages of Runswick Bay and Staithes? The nearby market town of Guisborough is well worth visiting, with its individual shops and twice weekly market days. With homely touches throughout, this Castleton cottage makes a lovely, comfortable holiday home.

The picturesque village of Castleton nestles in the beautiful Esk Valley, in the heart of the North York Moors National Park. There is a railway station serving the Esk Valley and Whitby, which also links with the steam line to the attractive market town of Pickering. The Camphill Village Trust community of Botton is nearby, with its craft workshops and shops selling home produced food, craft items and books. The historic city of York is just over an hour away, and the coastal towns and villages of Whitby, Staithes, Robin Hood's Bay and Sandsend with its lovely beach, are within easy driving distance, and well worth a visit.
