  • "This is one of our favourite cottages that we keep coming back to time and time again."

We enjoy the lovely walks straight outside the door and the convenient location.

  • "The cottage was very cosy and comfortable."

We are not the kind of people who go looking for things to complain about, I guess you could say that we are pretty easy going. The only thing that was a little frustrating is the fact that there are three remote controls for the TV. One to switch the TV on, another to control the sound and the third to change channels. Other than that everything else was satisfactory.

Thank you for your review, I’m glad you found it all good. So sorry you found the tv had too many remotes. There are instructions for these. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful private, cosy character cottage in quiet country setting, in good location."

(great for Wetherby Horse races, which is a 15 min drive away) Everything needed was provided and the friendly host responds quickley to text if you have any questions. All appliances work well and are simple to use. Washing machine good for our muddy clothes after our lovely river side dog walk at nearby Boston Spa. The very big bed is very comfortable with beautiful bedding. We found the WiFi easy to connect to and reliable with good speed. The cottage is lovely and warm with loads of hot water ( central heating is on timer ) and a lovely gas stove which can be used at any time. The only improvement we suggested is the provision of a SMART TV ..the existing one was ok but we couldn't stream Netflix! (The host has said she is considering upgrading the TV after New Year 2023) We love this cottage and will definately be booking again. Thank you

  • "The property was clean, comfortable and well equipped with some nice biscuits and milk supplied."

Clifford is a lovely village. Only had fish and chip shop (excellent) but nearby Boston Spa has everything you may need and has lovely river walks. Parked outside easily every day but can imagine might be more difficult in high season with all the other cottages nearby let.

Thank you Paul for your positive feedback. Im so pleased you enjoyed the cottage and the great facilities in Boston Spa; so many restaurants bars and cafes now. The walk by The Wharf is as short or long as one chooses. Parking is never more than 50 metres away but usually you can get a space close by or right outside. Property Owner

  • "We were extremely happy with Cabbage Hall Cottage."

It was a very comfortable & cosy cottage, plenty of room for the two of us, plenty of room to park the car on the road in front. The property is set on the edge of two villages with easy reach of Wetherby, Leeds, York, Knaresborough & Harrogate, some of which can be visited by bus from outside the cottage. There is a small convenience store within walking distance down into Bramham, or plenty of shops, cafes & restaurants in Boston Spa one mile away.

Thank you Paul, it is always rewarding to get such positive feedback. I’m glad you explored so many options. Julie Property Owner

  • "The property is advertised as being "dog friendly"."

It is NOT. There is no back garden and the very small front garden has a wall low enough for any energetic dog to jump, straight onto a busy road. I booked the cottage for 3 nights, but ended up not spending any nights there, because of the unsettling of our dog. There claims to be on street parking, but due to other local residents, this could be some distance away. The cottage itself is lovely, and ideal for a couple, or single person, without dog, and having good mobility, but unfortunately wasn't for us.

I'm sorry to hear the wall wasn't adequate for your dog, however we haven't had this issue previously. It would be your responsibility to ensure your dog is not left alone and secure. We hope you enjoyed your stay! Property Owner

Cottage is next to a very busy road and we were unable to sit out and enjoy the beautiful weather as the only sitting out area was at the front and there was constant traffic passing

Thank you for your feedback on the road. I am so sorry that it seemed to be busy when you stayed. The speed limit is 30mph and it is not a major road so you may have been unlucky. The cottage is advertised as having street parking which suggests that it is on a street not in the middle of the countryside. I trust this did not compromise your visit and that you found some positives also. Property Owner

Perfectly homey, comfortable and truly just what we needed. The cottage is so welcoming, we felt instantly at home. It’s location is perfect too! We were able to visit many place around Yorkshire that we wanted too and with not too longs drive. There are beautiful walks all around to do, some pubs not too far away as well. We had such a fabulous time and will definitely be recommending!

The cottage itself was fine cosy little place and had most of what you'd want but location wise absolutely nothing there you have to get in a car to go anywhere even travel to next village to buy a pint of milk no where to eat at all this would be okay if you wanted a base and took all your supplies with you and didn't want to socialise at all on an evening nothing but houses here very boring and uninteresting place

Thank you for providing feedback on Cabbage Hall Cottage. We're glad you enjoyed our property. We are sorry to hear you were disappointed with the area, Clifford is a conservation village with a rich history and interesting architecture. Much to learn. There are country walks from the door and a bus stops just outside for Leeds and Harrogate. My previous guest admirably did not even bring a car. There is a shop 15 mins walk away and a pub. A mile away also easily walkable is Boston Spa, which is lined with cafes restaurants and shops. The Cottage is a quiet retreat and happily the majority have the imagination to enjoy this and explore many destinations. Coffee, tea, cake and a pint of milk were left in the fridge. Property Owner

The number 7 bus is an excellent way to get to both of these places, running regularly and late into the evening. The bus stop is handily located just outside the cottage. Highly recommend the service.

Constant hot water. Blackout blinds on windows and pretty curtains. Bedding and towels supplied. Also hand wash and washing up liquid useful. Lovely to find tea tray with jug of milk and plate of macaroons on arrival. Log stove, which is powered by gas, is very efficient and heats rooms quickly in evening. Views of trees and fields from upper windows and you can see the morning sun rise. Nice deep bath in which to relax and unwind. Very friendly village and great for dog walking. Recreation ground five minutes walk away next to St Luke's church with field and woodland walk for early morning and evening dog exercise. Owner is available by phone and is approachable and willing to help. Would love to stay longer next time. Easy access to Leeds, Harrogate, Scarborough, Brimham Rocks and Fountains Abbey. Lots to do within easy reach and there is a bus stop outside if you don't want to drive. Looking forward to discovering more on my next visit

  • "We agree with previous comments about the uncomfortable bed settee!"

Puzzled as to why a 13.5 tog quilt was provided in the height of summer! However, there were some lovely flowers left for us along with a delicious cake.

Thank you for your feedback in relation to the 13.5 tog duvet. The weather had been very up and down so I left a cotton sheet at the end of the bed, there was also a thin quilt. There is now a 4.5 tog duvet as well. The Sofa Bed has been replaced by a soft two seater sofa and armchair which I feel guests will find more suitable. Kind Regards, Julie Property Owner

  • "Settee in livingroom is a bed settee not required for a property with a bedroom advertised as suitable for 2 people."

Due to their construction bed settees are not the most comfortable of seats to use as the only lounge seats. Suggest a good 2 seater settee as accommodation is only advertised for 2 people and this would be smaller therebye allowing more floor space for a larger dining table and 2 chairs. Only parking for this property is on the main road.
