Stillington is a very pretty, small rural village lying half way between York and Helmsley. The village has a Post Office/shop, several high quality pubs, Indian restaurant, fish and chip shop and antiques showroom. A network of footpaths and bridleways lead from the village to the beautiful surrounding countryside of the Howardian Hills. Stillington is close to the lovely Georgian town of Easingwold, plus Thirsk, Ripon, Harrogate, York, Malton and Helmsley are all within easy reach. The stunning North York Moors, Rievaulx and Fountain Abbey, and Castle Howard are nearby. Further afield are the seaside resort of Scarborough and Flamingo Land Theme Park. An ideal base all year round.

A huge variety of attractions are nearby including family fun at Flamingo Land, the beaches at Scarborough, hiking in the North York Moors, or simply visiting the many towns and villages in the area - there is something for everyone. A wonderful Stillington cottage, perfect for a family getaway.

Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub 5 mins walk. Note: Next door neighbour restores steam engines during weekday working hours and as such there may be some associated noise.

The cottage was clean and very comfortable. It is ideally situated for exploring the Yorkshire Wolds which are beautiful and unspoilt. Our host was extremely welcoming. We believe the cottage should have a four star rating rather than a three.
