  • "This was a lovely cottage in a great location and was comfortable."

But whilst being dog friendly it was situated on a country lane crossroads with no gate to keep dogs in! I didn't check that detail and the photos didn't show this either! Traffic was minimal but nonetheless we couldn't relax and let the dogs wander! Also there was "no mop" provided....a vital bit of kit needed to help sort the muddy paw prints!! Wiping floors on hands and knees on holiday isn't fun! The cottage does have steps in and out of every room more than described! We did enjoy our stay and would recommend it to others with this info being available.

We are glad you have enjoyed your stay in coopers cottage sorry you didn’t find the mop and bucket but it is kept in the utility room along with the washing machine and freezer if there are any problems we are always available to help we were surprised to see that the cottage is on a crossroads it is on a quiet country lane and opposite there is a private drive which is also a bridal path but thank you for your comments Property Owner

  • "Lovely comfortable cosy cottage."

Peaceful location, great views, very well equipped, plenty of parking. Spacious out house/store next to the cottage for storing bikes, wet clothes, muddy boots etc. Although seemingly in the middle of nowhere :o) you aren't too far from Whitby and other coastal communities. North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway is nearby, the train passes through the valley below. Grosmont and its quaint station is not too far down the road. Owners are on hand and very friendly and welcoming. We are certainly hoping to return. Carole and Leigh

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Cooper's Cottage."

The Cottage is clean, comfortable and well equipped. The hosts are very welcoming and the hospitality tray on arrival was a welcome sight The views are simply amazing. The cottage is a great base to be able to visit all that the surrounding area has to offer, including Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay, Sandsend and Pickering. We would definitely visit again and I would highly recommend a visit for those who haven't stayed before.

  • "Despite only one mention of steps inside the cottage there were more, which made life rather concerning as I am disabled and I had been wrongly reassured by mention of the sitting room steps."

There was a step down from the kitchen, then up to the bathroom/wc, then two down to the sitting room. There were also two up to the ground floor bed room. I had been mislead by the omissions and would have chosen a different property. The property, I feel would have been a bit cramped for four people but as there were just two of us we had sufficient space. The views from the sitting room and upstairs bedroom were lovely as we had been advised and having stayed in the area a few times, expected. Directions to the cottage were a little confusing from the direction we came but once travelling around we sussed it out. I would recommend this accommodation as long as the internal access was explained better and possibly grab rails installed.

We loved the views & our visits from Bo the cat, Chewy the dog, we even had a visit from the owners Jack Russell who is so friendly. We also found a lovely welcome tray waiting for us on the table. All in all you could not want more. The owners Glyn & his wife could not have been more helpful if we needed anything. When we arrived home I found that I had lost an earring, once again they couldn't have been more helpful. I'm so grateful they looked for it immediately & managed to find it. I can't thank them enough, it was so important to me. If you want a peaceful holiday with fantastic views & Cottage, with all you could want you won't do better. You won't be disappointed.
