  • "Our second visit to Beacon and just as enjoyable."

The cottage is clean, well maintained and very comfortable. Plenty of hot water. Carol is a very welcoming host. Lovely welcome pack on arrival. The weather was fantastic, so we were able to have breakfast in the garden which was great watching the birds and listening to their song.

Although it is quiet and peaceful it didn't feel too remote. The cottage was immaculately clean and everything you needed was provided. It was well thought out and the well designed. The owners son was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I booked The Beacon last minute and I am so please I found it. We are going back again in October this time into a different cottage which allows dogs. I am so looking forward to returning.

A wonderful modern holiday cottage in an idyllic location with great views. The attention to detail that the owners, Carol and Charles provided was superb. Spotlessly clean, cosy and comfortable with the added surprise of a lovely welcome pack. We are very much looking forward to our next visit.

  • "Wonderful holiday cottage."

Everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay has been thought of. I have mobility issues and found the cottage very easy to move around in. It was nice to meet and chat with the owner Carol who was around if we were to need anything. My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay and will look to return some time soon.

  • "The owners were excellent, they were on site which made things very easy especially when the TV mask at Whitby had burnt down."

They did everything they could to get a picture for us. The cottage was excellent, very clean and comfortable, we had been left a pint of milk, bottle of wine and a box of chocolates. In each bedroom there was also a small gift all very much appreciated. The cottage was in a place where it was easy access to all available amenities. Lots of things in the area to go and see and do. Would recommend a visit to anyone. Thank you again for a lovely holiday. C. Coles

Our friendly host welcomed us, gave us the necessary information we needed and left some nice little touches for our arrival (wine, chocolates and some sweets for our daughter). The location is perfect for trips to the villages of the North Yorkshire Moors and the coast. We would definitely stay here again - the booking process was easy.

  • "Everything one needed on arrival was provided by our gracious hostess Carol, in this well appointed and comfortable cottage."

The serene location is far enough away from the highway but close enough to neighbouring villages and the interesting seaside towns of Staithes, Whitby and Saltburn by the Sea to provide us with days of recreation. A day touring the Yorkshire Moors and another on the train from Whitby to Pickering and return in perfect weather made for a memorable week. The only disappointing aspect of the accomodation was the disconcerting noise from the floorboards, made when walking around, including carpeted areas. One did become accustomed to it but nocturnal visits to the toilet invariably disturbed the sleep of the other! Otherwise, wonderful!

We were welcomed by our friendly host Carol who made us feel at home from the start and later in the week were fortunate enough to also meet Chuck and spent quite a time in conversation about our shared interest. The cottage is a credit to both Carol and Chuck who have created a beautiful set of holiday lets in the grounds of their imposing farmhouse which is in a great location for anyone wanting a quiet break and is within a stones throw of many places of interest in this area. Would recommend this immaculate cottage to anyone .
