  • "We had a relaxing and pleasant stay."

The bed was very comfortable. The location was peaceful and convenient for Hornsea and the Trans Pennine Trail. An added bonus was the welcome pack which included a bottle of the local beer and a white wine. The accommodation was definitely value for money. In addition the owner's communication was excellent. It is good to note that to get the maximum benefit of the heating system and sufficient hot water in winter, the wood burning stove needs to be used. This incurs an additional cost of £5 per basket for the wood. Although this cost isn't necessarily unreasonable, it is best to know about it in advance. The Sykes description doesn't highlight this point.

  • "Cottage is lovely, clean and comfortable."

People in the village friendly and helpful. Location is good , but not much to do when the weather not good( we had most days rainy) and we had our dog with us. We couldnt let dog run freely as there are roads all around village. So you need to take dog far away for good run( beach or bear Beverly). Apart from that nice place for quick recharrge. Thank you .

Everything worked except the fridge freezer which we accidentally turned off by pushing the bread bin against the socket on the kitchen wall tiles. Re location of bread bin might be a good idea.

Loved the village and the location of the Chapel. Mappleton beach is just a few minutes away in the car and ideal for dogs. Hornsea not to far away and has great parks and beach. All in all had a great holiday, please note that the village pub is closed which was not a problem for us. Would like to thank Dawn for the extras provided. Hope to back again soon.

Very comfortable and clean . Nice welcome pack on arrival too . Very friendly village everyone said hello when walking the dog . The local pub has closed down but it’s only a few minutes drive to other villages or to Hornsea and Beverley is lovely place to drive to for a wander round the town and minster . Only issue we had was internet cutting out but owner has upgraded to full fibre now so I’m sure won’t be an issue from now on . Would be very happy to stay again .

The welcome pack was a pleasant surprise. It would be helpful if the cleaner did not turn everything at the sockets. We had to go round to find the sockets to turn electrical items on. The fridge switch was hidden behind the bread bin and the toaster switch behind the microwave. Facilities were excellent and the cleanliness could not be faulted. Definitely recommend.

  • "Ideal location in a beautiful area."

The complimentary welcome basket of beer and shortbread was much appreciated. The property was well presented, apart from a used dental flossing stick, which I came across in the right hand coffee table drawer in the lounge area, which reflects in my score for cleanliness. Also, we didn’t find the lounge furniture terribly comfortable, as it is too low. However, this old, former chapel has clearly been lovingly converted to a high standard of finish.

It was a real home from home. We are both relaxed and energised after our break. Dawn the owner was fantastic knowing that she was always on the end of the phone if needed (we never needed her as everything was perfect). On arrival the instructions that she sent were perfect, and she went over and above with little gems such as food/pub recommendations. The cottage was spotlessly clean and comfy. Thank you so much for the extra thought you put into everything, it was noted and appreciated.

The trans Penine trail is roughly 200 yards from the property, right next door to the village pub. With the added advantage of the area nearby being very flat!
