Just a short stroll away is the long, sandy beach, a perfect place to watch the children building sandcastles and stretching your legs along the shoreline.

Why not take a pleasant saunter along the promenade into the town centre, stop for coffee and cakes in one of the tea rooms, or enjoy a meal in one of the fine restaurants?

With independent shops, pretty gardens and galleries all close by, there really is something for everyone in this splendid region.

Hornsea Mere, the largest natural lake in Yorkshire, offers fishing, sailing and wonderful birdwatching opportunities, as does Bempton RSPB Reserve and Flamborough Head.
