About the location

Filey

Scarborough 7.5 miles; Bridlington 11 miles.

Filey is a traditional English seaside resort, with a friendly atmosphere, offering a restful holiday. A fishing town on the North East Coast, Filey has enjoyed a reputation of being a seaside resort since Victorian times. The town is set affront the magnificent Filey Bay, a long stretch of beautiful sand with Filey Brigg to the North with its shallow rock pools. The town itself seems almost caught in a timewarp, retaining much of its character, with individual shops, narrow paths and ginnels. There is a small coble landing, a slipway where the local fishermen keep their boats, and delightful beach chalets that can be hired through the summer months. The bay is edged with two promenades and there are various gardens, where brass bands play on a Sunday afternoon. This small town is family orientated with pony rides on the beach, children's play areas, crazy golf and candy floss! Nearby, Flamborough Head boasts high cliffs with exhilarating walks and Bempton Cliffs are a haven for bird lovers. A short drive brings you to the much busier town of Scarborough. Plenty to discover and explore in this lovely area.

The apartment was always lovely and warm, lovely and clean, just a fab' place to stay! Beach was only a 15 minute walk away, we were down there everyday as our dogs loved it! A perfect holiday if you want lovely long walks just from your doorstep! We would definitely recommend Seabreak and hopefully will be back later ourselves!

Miss Spurr, Gainsborough, February 2014

The kitchen was excellent and it was very useful having the facilities. The flat was a lot more spacious than expected which was a bonus. The flat screen television was great. The flat had an excellent heating system and we were always warm and cosy despite the really cold January weather. The bay is fabulous and in a really excellent location.

Mrs Reynard, Leeds, January 2014

Site itself well designed and maintained. Excellent garden designs and maintenance. Liked meadows and lakes as well as beach access. Free access to swimming pool. Closeness to beach. Dog-friendly pub. Relaxing and quiet. Clean and well-presented. Dog-friendly. Friendly workmen. Pub and activity area great. We would come back!

Mrs Tordoff, Huddersfield, November 2013

The on site facilities were excellent, they were extremely dog friendly, and there were many and varied places to walk on the complex itself. The complex was very clean, and made to resemble a village, and was very pretty.

Mrs Edwards, Ormskirk, August 2013
