  • "I really enjoyed my autumn break at Lupin Cottage."

It was comfortable. I had everything I needed. It was warm and there was plenty of hot water. After a busy day visiting nearby dog friendly attractions it was great to be able to relax in the recliner chair. The safe dog area where my dog could run off the lead was an added bonus. The owner was friendly and helpful. We had very good holiday.

  • "Lupin Cottage was perfect for us; two adults and two dogs."

(We didn’t use the second bedroom.) The accommodation is spacious, comfortable and very well equipped with everything we needed. The park itself is very well presented and our dogs loved the secure dog paddock where they could safely run off lead and play ball. Site staff are friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The location of the cottage is ideal for exploring the Yorkshire coast. We’ve had a lovely and restful holiday.

Had to go and buy some anti-bacterial spray and clean the draining board on the sink as it obviously hadn't been cleaned properly. That's why I wouldn't recommend this cottage to any of my friends

  • "We loved our short stay at Lupin Cottage at Orchard Farm."

It was so easy to get settled in. The cottage is comfortable and spacious and very clean. Our Granddaughter had lots of room to play indoors because of the open plan kitchen/lounge. And when she wanted to play out we made use of the playground, which is well kept and has plenty of play value for the little people. Only thing missing is a set of conventional swings. We will look to book this cottage again as it was perfect for us.

  • "The cottage smelled awfully of air freshner and smoking."

It was very expensive. The beds were poor quality and sheets polyester. There was no where to sit outside. I would have expected a lot more for the money.

Hi Catherine, thank you for your feedback. Of course the smell of air freshener and smoke in this case have gone hand in hand due to the previous guests not abiding to our no smoking inside the property rule and we do apologise for that. Unfortunately this has been made worse with your recent use of a disposable BBQ right outside the front door as well as having windows open. We've explained this to our current guests who we hope are more forgiving. We're sorry the beds/bedding were not to your liking. The sheets are hotel grade polycotton which have the comfort of cotton, but is much more durable. The listing or photos do not mention or show any outdoor seating, but the cottages are part of a 14 acre campsite with plenty of picnic benches and open grass spaces available. Our prices are set by Sykes and they go off our facilities/location/time of year and are competitively priced. Kind regards Matt Property Owner

Very convenient for the local village and amenities. The only downside was the fact that the on site club only opened Friday and Saturday from 7pm to 11pm. Fully understand that this is due to supply and demand. We would recommend this location to our friends.

The cottage was very clean in all areas, although the shower tray could do with replacing. The beds were extremely comfy as was the seating area in the lounge. The only criticism I have is there was no iron or hairdryer. The area around the cottage is ver picturesque. The fishing lake on site was a welcome bonus for my husband and a lovely quiet area to sit in . Overall we gad a great stay and would recommend sykes cottages

Small but north cramped, absolutely fine for 3 adults and a dog. Directions are easy to follow to the campsite as well as when you enter the campsite. Humandby is a nice village close to Filey, to explore you would need a car although there are train and bus within walking distance.

We appreciated the rea, coffee, biscuit welcome oack but were not initially given WiFi password ( ask at reception) and there was no information pack unlike other properties we have stayed in. Would be an idea to have WiFi password and essential info in frame on hall wall. Cottage well situated for visiting Yorkshire coast. Would definitely stay again.

All on one floor with high ceilings and plenty of space in every room. Well equipped (although some washing up liquid would have been helpful) and a nice welcome basket of teas, coffee and biscuits. Beds and sofas (2 seats reclined) were comfy and the whole cottage was clean throughout. Good sized fridge and freezer, with a clean oven too. Parking close by and good shrubs and trees around the cottage. Local pub nearby was excellent and a 5 minute walk away but they don't serve food on Mondays or Tuesdays. Great location and highly recommended.

  • "Picked this property as it was dog friendly and a good base for travelling to Filey, Whitby and Bridlington ( and Scarborough which we didn’t go to this visit) The cottage had everything in it we needed for our stay."

The listing stated a swimming pool, which we then had a notice through saying it was closed. There is no swimming pool on site. The bar is “arranged” into 3 areas, main bar is carpeted and plush seating, secondary area for families wooden seating stone tiled floor, which during high season I imagine would have a good atmosphere, outside of this area is the area you can sit with your dog. It is covered, no atmosphere as away from other areas. The cottage is within the grounds of a well maintained camping and touring park, which is kept very clean and tidy. Within the grounds there is “Central Park” an enclosed large space whereby you can exercise dogs off lead. Therefore, I am classing this review as a 4, it would have been a 5 except for the points raised.

May very well come back again, but as we are farmers cannot book in advance. Thankyou.

We stayed in Lupin which is deceptively bigger than it looks from the outside! While the cottages don't have an enclosed garden area directly attached to them, the site has a good sized enclosed dog park which is nicely laid out and well maintained; perfect for off lead time and a real treat for our greyhound who cant be let off lead unless in an enclosed area!! ( all dogs must be kept on lead else where in the park) On site bar and a small shop selling essentials. Easy walking into Hunmanby village. 5 minutes drive to Hunmanby Gap....a fabulous beach.

A five minute walk from the centre of Hunmanby with lots of amenities including pubs, a fish and chips shop, Chinese takeaway, and small Co-Op supermarket. • "The cottage was not clean enough."

For the amount we paid we expect the basics to be included. We only had one toilet roll for 3 days (we had to ask for more), and there was no soap in the bathroom. When we asked for some we were told it was self catering so was not included in the price, we then had to go out and buy some. We also didn't have control of the heating, which was run from a main central boiler. It came on twice a day and we had to ask for it to be put on continuous as it was freezing in the cottage. We paid over £100 a night for the cottage and it was cold.

We were exploring the area and it would have been so much nicer if the pool could have been open to 18:00 or even 17:00hrs.
