  • "Absolutely amazing cottage."

It was like a show home. Everything was perfect from the fresh flowers to the welcome tray to the supply of wood and the hot tub. The only negative was the house is on a main road, there isn’t a foot path to walk on. To walk our dog we had to drive to the village and then walk there. It wasn’t an issue for us, but dog owners need to be aware.

We are on the edge of the village, less than 500 yards to nearest footpath in a 40 mph zone. It's something we're used to and walk down daily with our little dog. We're sorry to hear that this was a concern for you but relieved that you still managed to explore our beautiful surroundings and enjoyed our cottage. Property Owner

The hot tub was a real bonus. Cannot fault the property. It had everything we needed to have a lovely holiday. Very much enjoyed the walk along the river recommended by the owners. We fell on The Wheatsheaf Inn by accident on our day of arrival and went back a couple of times. Five Houses farm shop and cafe is another decent local place to eat. Great property in a great location with lovely owners! Would highly recommend.

Thanks, we try to provide a stylish but also comfortable environment in our cottage. The wheatsheaf is ideal for a pub lunch in the village. Also dog friendly. And lovely owners of cottage!! Couldn't agree more:) Property Owner

The kitchen area was very homely with a lovely log burner and the beds were very comfortable. The shower over the bath was brilliant. On our arrival we had a lovely food basket left with essentials which I thought was a really nice touch. The hot tub was a great addition and didn't disappoint. Took 2 dogs with us who enjoyed the walk from the cottage with all the information the owners had left us. Would recommend.

Hutton Rudby is a very pretty village with lovely walks, small shop and a couple of pubs. The only downside for us with dogs is the lack of outside space at the cottage itself. The hot tub was a favourite with all our family!

Due to the cottage being a home for those employed in Drumrauch Hall in it's original conception, there just isn't the scope to provide a garden and parking. I'm relieved to see everything else worked for you all. Thank you for your support Property Owner

It is ideally located to explore the surrounding areas and the cottage itself has all the home comforts you need, beautifully decorated throughout. Ooh and that hot tub is a great way to relax. Really comfy bed, and lovely fluffy towels. We didn't use the log burner as the weather gods were really kind to us during our stay but could imagine how cosy it would feel on a winter night. The hosts left us a lovely welcome pack, they were on hand to help with any issues, yet left you to enjoy your holiday.

Hot tub was a bonus and the hosts we found to be extremely attentive and generous.

  • "First impressions on entering the cottage!"

What can I say it was beautiful. The decor was very tasteful, the owners had put Christmas decorations up for us which were quite minimalistic but very tastefully done, I took a few photos for inspiration later. The kitchen was outstanding and with the underfloor heating was great on Christmas Day when we had family join us and we sat in the dining area while we cooked. The kitchen was well stocked and even had a very nice welcome pack for us on the first day and fresh flowers on the dining table. I spent time in the hot tub which was my first time ever in a hot tub, I relaxed so much I didnt want to get out. After years of doing Christmas for everyone else constantly on the go in one way or another I was a bit nervous at spending Christmas away from home. The only thing I had to do was walk the dogs and read. For once I have had a very peaceful Christmas. Our dogs loved the longer daily walks down by the river, they were a bit unsettled at first with strange surroundings but after the first day they settled really well. I would recommend the cottage to anyone for Quality and service. Thank you Paula and Simon for a fantastic stay.

  • "A lovely experience."

We were immensely impressed by the design aesthetic of the cottage. Considerable time, effort and money had obviously been spent on providing a high quality living environment with excellent furnishings and careful colour matching. The cottage was exceptionally clean, comfortable and thoughtfully prepared for visitors. This included a much appreciated and helpful 'welcome pack' as well as fresh flowers ( it was our wedding anniversary ). The available but unobtrusive owners obviously want visitors to enjoy their stay and have done everything possible to ensure new arrivals can quickly settle in. Drumrauch Cottage is also very well equipped and located in an area that is full of varied attractions for visitors. We had an excellent experience there and wished we had been able to spend longer than just 4 nights. Many thanks for your thoughtfulness. Just one afterthought. Although this did not cause us any problems whatsoever, it might be helpful to provide some instructions for some of the appliances, which were obviously expensive but could easily be confusing for guests in different circumstances?

Sorry for late response Thank you so much for your lovely review of our holiday cottage. We always Welcome feedback especially your thoughts on some instructions for appliances for future guests. We hadn't considered it before possibly because we're familiar with them. So we will take your idea and put something together for other visitors. Thank you Paula and Simon Property Owner
