The attractive old market town of Kirkbymoorside lies on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, in between the towns of Helmsley and Pickering. It is a charming place, full of Yorkshire character, and is the centre for the local farms and villages. Visitors will find a variety of shops from tearooms, pubs and restaurants to antique shops, while there is a market day on Wednesday. The excellent walking and magnificent scenery of the National Park are close by, as are the picturesque villages of Hutton le Hole and Lastingham. Pickering is the base of the North York Moors Steam Railway - a ‘must do’ day out for all visitors to the area. York, Whitby and the Yorkshire Coast are within easy driving distance.

The cottage was ideal with a large, airy living space, comfortable bed, small private garden that was great for the dogs. The area was quiet and peaceful with only the sound of owls at night, and offered superb walks right from the doorstep.
Although there are four cottages in the barn complex, the thoughtful conversion gives plenty of privacy. The owners were friendly but not at all invasive!

The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. Very friendly helpful owners, who even left us a home made cake. We particularly liked the safe, enclosed garden, and the play area for children.
Great location with lots to see and do nearby.

A delightful cottage in a beautiful area. The owners were welcoming (the tea tray with homemade cake when we arrived was a pleasant surprise.) We were left to enjoy our own space but felt that support was at hand if needed. The garden was especially "dog friendly" and at no time were we made to feel uneasy at having two pets with us. The best cottage we have ever stayed in - we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.
