The attractive old market town of Kirkbymoorside lies on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, in between the towns of Helmsley and Pickering. It is a charming place, full of Yorkshire character, and is the centre for the local farms and villages. Visitors will find all they want from tearooms, pubs and restaurants to antique shops, while Wednesday is market day. The excellent walking and magnificent scenery of the National Park are close by, as are the picturesque villages of Hutton le Hole and Lastingham. Pickering is the base of the North York Moors Steam Railway - a ‘must do’ day out for all visitors to the area. Both the City of York and the Yorkshire Coast are within easy driving distance.

Kirkbymoorside 1.5 miles; Helmsley 5 miles. Low Hagg Farm is situated in a tranquil position in open countryside, just 1.5 miles from the lovely old market town of Kirkbymoorside. The sympathetic conversion of old stone farm buildings has resulted in four holiday cottages of great character and comfort. Situated around a courtyard, the properties exude quality with exposed stonework, oak flooring and timber beams complemented by modern 'shaker' style kitchens and underfloor heating. One property has been designed for wheelchair access and two cottages offer all ground floor accommodation - which may be suitable for elderly or assisted disabled holidaymakers - please phone for further information. Meanwhile the children’s activity area and wonderful rural aspect ensure that this is the ideal location for the whole family to enjoy a break. Perfect for those wanting to ‘get away from it all’, but with easy access to the shops, pubs and restaurants of the area. Note: The properties can be booked together to accommodate larger groups.
The largest of the properties, Pheasant Cottage offers accommodation over two floors. With its logburning stove, exposed stonework and exposed timber beams guests will love this warm and welcoming property.
Three bedrooms: 2 x first floor twins (with zip & link beds - so can be double). One of the twins has an ensuite WC and basin. 1 x ground floor double. Ground floor bathroom with bath with shower over, washbasin and WC. Modern well equipped fitted kitchen. Cosy sitting room with woodburning stove and dining area with french doors leading to garden/patio area.
Full oil central heating and additional heating from woodburning stove in sitting area. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, colour TV/DVD, stereo/CD etc. Selection of books, games and DVDs. Fuel power and initial supply of fuel for logburner inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot and highchair on request. Ample off road parking. On arrival we found a jug of milk in the fridge and a cake in the kitchen, making for a warm welcome. The property is ideal for a family such as ours and indeed exceeded our expectations. The owners are welcoming without being intrusive. All in all a lovely property in a great situation for exploring Yorkshire. We would definitely recommend it to others.
