  • "Me & the wife plus Jess Stayed here for a week September 1st - 8th ."

Had a great week at Thornlea Cabin helped by the unexpected lovely Weather and perfect hosts Val & Dennis who are a lovely couple and nothings to much trouble for them . The Cabin itself is fully equipped down to the last detail , and set in beautiful surroundings and a very large grassed area that our Jack Russell Jess had an absolute ball. Although there's a pub nearby we never tried it , but had some great drives out including Goathland ( heartbeat country half hour away) and Whitby. All in all a fantastic relaxing break so much so that we booked for next year whilst still there. Ian , Dale and Jess.

  • "Lovely stay at Thornlea Log Cabin."

Much appreciated Welcome pack when we arrived crisps, biscuits, milk and a bottle of wine. Val the owner was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble for her. The location was very quiet for a totally chilled out break. Loved watching the barn owl hunting in the morning. The cabin was ideally located to explore all along the North York Moors and coastline. Lovely pub within walking distance with good food. Local shops a short drive away. The cabin itself was well equipped but could have benefited from having wifi access. Will definitely consider a return trip sometime in the future.

  • "This was a fantastic find."

Thornlea Log Cabin is a gem. I would highly recommend a holiday here. It offers a good base to explore the area or if you looking for escapism from everyday life you will find that too. There is a lovely veranda to have your meals on and the sunsets are spectacular. There is a Co-op/petrol station & Marks and Spencer's close by and we arranged for a morrisons delivery for arrival. The hosts are very friendly, nothing was too much trouble and their knowledge for places to visit and eat were very helpful. You will not be disappointed with this spotlessly clean holiday let.

Having an anxious rescue dog, the peace and privacy of the cabin's made for a much needed break for both of us, and local Cattertsy sands is the best ever beach for dogs! Val and Dennis are such kind hosts with a wealth of local knowledge, am sure we'll be back again. The beautiful sunsets and rises from the cabin are not to be missed.

The cabin is beautiful and spotless. Nothing was too much trouble and the dog loved mooching about the property. A lovely welcome pack that was enjoyed on the wrap around veranda. Great food at the local pub and on Val's recommendation the chip shop in the next village was something else. The whole time there was nothing but relaxation, good times and great memories. Lovely to be away from the hub of busy seaside attractions and close enough to get to them. Looking forward to going back

We received a welcome pack on arrival, and they also gave the kids a bag of sweets each on departure, which was a very nice touch. The log cabin was spotless with breath taking views of rolling country side. The shared garden is of a very large size which worked well for the children. The location is ideal for exploring the coast, 15 min driveaway from the nearest beach, 20 mins from Robinhood bay. 5 Stars plus, highly recommend.

Very well built, in good condition inside and out and nicely appointed. Compact - it's a lodge - so galley kitchen with all you need but don't plan a major cooking adventure and the bathroom is cosy (literally given always on heated towel rail). Everything works as it should, no draughts, loads of very hot water, effective electric radiators, good bed linen and duvets. Good access to both coast and moors, with wide ranging views.
