Location: Sheriff Hutton Near York

Malton 10 miles; York 11 miles.

Nestled among gently rolling hills between York and Malton, the peaceful village of Sheriff Hutton is steeped in history, with the ruins of a 14th century castle, housing Richard III in 1483, and a medieval church with Norman tower dating from 1100, which still has enclosed pews today. The village is delightful, with a green and two pubs, both serving food, one dating back to the 1600s. The City of York is only 11 miles away, while the North York Moors Steam Railway in Pickering, and the East coast seaside towns of Bridlington, Hornsea and Scarborough, as well as Whitby and Harrogate are all within driving distance. Local activities abound and the area is excellent for walking, cycling and exploring.

Our third year in a row! Christmas could not be better! Wonderful cottage, fantastic location! Many thanks to the lovely owner who provided a Christmas tree and present!
Mr Arnott, Leeds, December 2011

A comfortable and well equipped cottage in a lovely setting. The lounge was especially comfortable with a large TV and lots of literature about the area. Plenty of everything in the kitchen and an abundance of toiletries in the bathroom. The local shop is only two minutes away and stocks practically everything one could need.
Mr Hartley, Southport, October 2011

Cherry Tree Cottage is in a pretty village which has several lovely countryside walks, a friendly village shop and a children’s playground. It's a very clean, well stocked cottage and is suitable for all ages. The village is in an excellent and central location. We enjoyed days out to the moors, coast, Dalby Forest, Howardian hills, National Trust properties as well as York city. We will return to Cherry Tree Cottage and will recommend it to family and friends.
Mrs Long, Wymondham, July 2011

Visiting North Yorkshire is always a great pleasure for us and the cottage is very convenient and comfortable. The location is also a great benefit.
