York 20 miles; Scarborough 23 miles.

The market town of Malton has been the historic centre of Ryedale since Roman times, and has many interesting buildings including the old Corn Exchange and Assembly Rooms. A weekly general market is still held in the town, as well as livestock and farmers’ markets. Malton Museum occupies the former Town Hall in the centre of Malton, and houses a collection of Roman artefacts excavated from the local area. The Yorkshire Moors are to the north, and the Yorkshire Wolds are to the south, making it excellent country for walkers and cyclists. The impressive coastline is just 25 miles away, whilst the historic city of York is a 20 mile journey. A perfect base for touring the attractions of North Yorkshire.

Previous visitors' comments about Grove Cottage:

The cottage was a home from home, with everything catered for. Wine on arrival and our welcome tray was a lovely touch. The owners were extremely courteous and the hot tub was fab! We will definitely book again.
Mrs Denmade, Warrington, February 2012

Really enjoyed the whole experience, everything ran very smoothly from the original booking with Sykes right through to leaving on the Monday. The Cottage is gorgeous and finished to a very high standard and we did not feel that there was anything else that could have been done to make it more enjoyable! The HOT TUB is fabulous! Thank you.
Miss Mountain, Cottingham, November 2011

Fantastic and relaxing week in a gorgeous, clean and well equipped cottage that is situated in an excellent location for days out to York, Whitby, and Scarborough etc. The hot tub was a brilliant bonus too.
Mrs Riley, Stoke-on-Trent, October 2011

Excellent property, one of the best we've ever stopped at. The owners were fantastic. The quality and location were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble, shame we had to leave at the end of the week - 5 *****. Have already recommended to our friends.
