The village has one pub and a mixture of cottages and farms and is ideally placed for touring the market town of Malton, 9 miles away, and the famous city of York, 10 miles away. The area is excellent for walking, cycling and exploring, while the North York Moors and the East Coast seaside towns of Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington are all within an hour's drive. A lovely holiday location.

A lovely, detached, first floor apartment, converted from a barn which originally formed part of an old granary, situated just outside the small village of Thornton-le-Clay, 10 miles from the historic city of York. Spacious, bright and tastefully furnished, the property has been renovated to a high standard to provide modern, open plan living accommodation with one double bedroom, making a wonderful retreat for a romantic break. Excellent walking and cycling opportunities are close by while York is just 10 miles away, with its impressive Minster, medieval walls, internationally renowned Jorvik Viking Centre and good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. The North York Moors and East Coast resorts of Scarborough and Filey are within easy touring distance, making this an ideal base from which to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy a well earned break.

This was a beautifully furnished apartment, with lovely views across open countryside. It was well equipped with everything that you could need. The use of a garage below the property was a bonus. The owners were very friendly and helpful and made us very welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. It was a great location for visiting York and the surrounding area.
